So true. I discovered them through my mom's old records when I was seven (I'm 48 now), and spent the next few years devouring all the albums and 45s I could get till I had all the group's albums just before my 10th birthday. Their music still brings a lot of joy to me and it makes me so happy to see that joy spread to others as well. I had a dream come true this past September when I was right at the front of the stage for Paul McCartney's "Secret Gig" at Grand Central and it was an experience I'll never forget. Thanks so much for uploading this video!

6:50 - If there's a great description on the band's presence out there, it's the one by the Rolling Stones' lead guitarist Keith Richards; who once said the Beatles were a band that consisted of four frontmen. Any one of those four in any other band would clearly be that band's frontman. That's how great this band was.

It's cultural. I heard this song for the first time yesterday. Now, if they act like they never heard the Beatles, or even their most famous songs (twist and shout, Hello Goodbye, here comes the sun) then, that's pretty hard to believe. But, I know at least personally, no one was playing the Beatles when I was growing up. I haven't heard 80% of their work.

I think that, like Queen, you've heard more Beatles music than you realize. I once dated a girl that "didn't like the Beatles." Obviously, this meant that I played a bunch of Beatles in the car with her. Time after time, it was "I love this - who is it?" "The Beatles." Or she'd know the song and start singing along, "I love this song - sang it in choir!" "Yeah, well it's The Beatles again." "What?!"

Couple of facts regarding the Beatles and this performance: - All four Beatles actually grew up in Liverpool, which is about 200 miles northwest of London (if you saw the movie "Creed", this is the city where Adonis Johnson fought the final bout of that movie); but they had to live in London as that is the big entertainment capital of the UK. - The reason they are playing on the rooftop of a building in London is for this: The album they were making at the time was going to be all live tracks, where they would rehearse the songs in the studio (they filmed a documentary about them doing that, where this footage comes from), but then they would put on a live concert (their first in three years at that time). They were considering somewhere in North Africa, a luxury liner in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, the Roundhouse concert venue in London, and some other ideas. However no one could agree on anything, so they decided to just play on the rooftop of the office building they had for their business Apple Corps so they could all just go home afterwards. Actually later in the set, some of London's police made their way to the rooftop to threaten them with arrest for disturbing the peace. - During this time, the members of the band weren't getting along and were kind of apathetic about making new music together. George Harrison (the one with the black guitar who was their lead guitarist) thought that perhaps bringing in a different musician to play with them might help focus everyone better; hence Billy Preston (of "Nothing from Nothing" fame), the brother on the electric piano in this clip

Guys need to put a little context to the song - make it that much more important. The BEATLES were fighting that day in the studio below, fought the whole process - the break up of the BEATLES. They decided to go on the roof with no rehearsal, to play, without knowing, the VERY LAST TIME EVER! Even with their crappy little amps, you can see the talent and brilliance of them on that London rooftop. As well, they stopped traffic, and could only play a few songs, till the police shut them down. History in the making.

The Beatles started out as a boy band in an era when all groups were like that, they were produced and controlled by record companies that often gave them songs written by writing groups. The Beatles changed that by taking control of all aspects of their music, writing, arranging etc. They also had an insane curiosity for exploring all new areas of music, sounds, instruments. This is why they are considered one of the greatest bands ever. So many groups attribute them as influences. Amazing catalog with very wide stylistic sound.

The Beatles evolved so much over time, from the happy early rock and roll sounds of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" or "She Loves You" to the much more conceptual ones like "A Day in the Life" or "Strawberry Fields Forever." And while a lot of the genius of the Beatles comes from the Lennon/McCartney songwriting, you can't forget George Harrison's contributions, like "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Something." You might also want to look into "Come Together," "Yesterday," "Let It Be," "In My Life," "Help!", "Eleanor Rigby," and "Revolution."

These guys are from one of the states where it's legalized, right? It's good to see kids turn on to what was in fact a real revolution. There's so much good music from this era, but the Beatles still towered over everyone, with the possible exceptions of Dylan and Hendrix. It was something to see, something to tell your grandkids about. "I was there." It won't happen again. I always wondered 'who'd be the next Beatles?' in the 70's. Still hasn't happened, and probably never will. They were a perfect storm.

Another good beatles song to listen to would be”let it be” It was written by Paul McCartney after his mother died and he basically started drinking himself to death out of grief until she came back to him in a dream and told him to let it be at which point he woke up and instantly wrote the song and worked hard to recover from the loss

Actually Let It Be was written more than 10 years after Paul's mother died. Paul's mother died when Paul was 14, it was one of the things that brought him and John closer together actually, having lost both their mothers as teenagers. You're right about the dream part tho, it's just that instead of comforting him out of grief she was comforting him because of how depressed he was over the break-up of The Beatles, having been in the band since he was a teenager and now almost 30 being hard for him

Here’s some of my favorite ones that have music videos or live. •We Can Work It Out (Lennon/McCartney) •Day Tripper (Lennon/McCartney) •I Need You (Harrison) •You’re Going to Lose That Girl (Lennon/McCartney) •🚨🔥A Day In The Life (Lennon/McCartney)🔥🚨 •Strawberry Fields Forever (Lennon/McCartney) •Something (Harrison) •All You Need Is Love (Lennon/McCartney) •Baby’s In Black-live (Lennon/McCartney) •I Want To Hold You Hand-live (Lennon/McCartney) •Let It be-live (Lennon/McCartney) •Penny Lane (Lennon/McCartney) •I Feel Fine-live (Lennon/McCartney) •Free As A Bird (Lennon/McCartney) •Fool On The Hill (Lennon/McCartney) •I Am The Walrus (Lennon/McCartney) •Revolution-live (Lennon/McCartney) They’re not in chronological order. I know I’m missing a lot so I apologize to Beatles fans out there. Just rattled a bunch off.

This is my favorite Beatles reaction I ever saw omfg I love your guys' energy and commentary and I was absolutely dying over ya'll imitating Paul's dancing jksksdkks. Also, Ringo Starr (the drummer) is still alive, he just did a concert with Paul actually! George died November 29th 2001 from cancer and John died December 8th 1980 from being shot, the anniversary of the day you uploaded this actually

At 4:20 of the video, the young gentleman in the center takes out his phone and immediately adds this song to his playlist. The Beatles will never be topped.

Glad to see you noticed Paul's hip swinging. Its only for a second but out of that you can tell he is grooving and the band is feeling it. Great react. Keep having fun Gents!

In this rooftop performance they are all wearing their girlfriends coats. It was 45 degrees minus wind chill and they were reluctant to perform outside at all. The members of the group were not getting along with each other and were close to splitting. Makes this performance more remarkable.

As a Beatles' fan and a regular viewer of RTTV I'm happy to see you guys reacting to a Beatles' song. If you guys want to react to something mind blowing, watch a video clip from the Beatles' early years during the whole Beatlemania thing - just to see all the kids screaming and going crazy for the Beatles. As big as Elvis and Michael Jackson were - the Beatlemania phenomenon was even bigger and crazier.

what makes the beatles great is its a bunch of super talented on their own people coming together for a bigger cause which is how music t.v. media in general excels...its never one person it everyone whose got talent working together..when talent is separate for other dreams jobs differences whatever a show or band or whatever's quality will dip....its a magic you get when certain people are together you can't recreate without them...and sadly many talented groups in any field split up and grow apart cause they feel empowered to create their own stuff

Perfect first Beatles song to listen to. Not one of their most known but it’s definitely one of their best. How the beat switches in the verse is so fukn groovy to this day! Check out the While My Guitar Gently Weeps live performance wit Prince. Prince absolutely murders his solo

I really am glad I watched your review of The Beatles. You picked a great song to listen to and thanks for the respect and homage you all payed The Beatles. There are actually two of The Beatles still alive. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the drummer. Ringo just turned 80, and Paul is not far behind. I was 7 years old when The Beatles first came to the US, and I have been a fan ever since. It is really great to see young people enjoying The Beatles music. Thank you all.

We need more Beatles videos from you guys. I've been a Beatles fan all my life, it's good to see you guys come around. Also if you guys wanna watch any movies about them or had gotten influence from them, Nowhere boy (Story about John Lennon) and Across the Universe (A movie musical that only uses Beatles music and its characters are from names from their songs).
