Different than any other song at the time. Plus they filmed a music video for this track that wasn't even a single and the members of Duran Duran didn't even appear in the music video. Such a bold move. Such a special song. The lyric "Sing Blue Silver" was used later to name A VHS containing a live concert of the band.

Each of the first three albums has a song like this, right? Tel Aviv and some of the musical intros on the first album, Tiger Tiger on Seven... if you listen to early Roxy Music, they did songs like this too, like In Every Dream Home a Heartache. Nick and Simon really made something special with this one.

The Chauffeur was very experimental for early Duran Duran. The video was not on TV, just on video collection on VHS. Probably played on some night clubs like the x-rated version of Girls on Film. Deftones made a really good cover of the song. Lead singer Simon plays the Ocarina instrument you hear at the end of the song and he always plays it live on their shows. Love DD!

The woman dancing topless Perri lister was in a long term relationship with Billy Idol. I grew up in 95 and the first time I watched the video I was shocked to see a woman topless in a video. Such an amazing song you should listen to the live version it’s amazing!

To anyone who liked this song and doesn't know about their spinoff one-off group Arcadia, they need to listen to the album So Red the Rose in its entirety. You get the same vibe with most songs on the album. I recommend it greatly.

I love Duran Duran but I hate this song. I always have. In the liner notes when they mention who plays what in the song and it says John Taylor plays bass in the song. Well that's not true. There is zero bass in this song period. Do Ordinary World or Save A Prayer. They are 100 times better than this song in my humble opinion. Also Invisible is good as well as Anniversary from their new album Future Past...
