Yep, can't hear this song without seeing Billy Jack kicking butt. Saw it in the theater and this song stuck in the head.

Billy Jack was a real man who fought for the Native People. In the 1970's we went to DC and therexwas a rally of Native ppl and he spoke there.

Ohhh Sarah, this brought me back to when I was 16 and still an idealist. I never gave up on my ideals, but I learned over the decades that life sometimes has other plans. This touched me deeply, my thanks as always. 😇😊🌹🌹🤩

Wow. This song holds so much power of survival. The power of no one can change my believes of of what I believe. Thank you Sarah . Also thanks for this request. Never doubt your heart.

It's hard to believe but the woman who sings this, (Jinx Dawson - pictured) usually sings songs revolving around satanism and witchcraft. The song was the theme song from the movie Billy Jack, though now dated held a pretty powerful message back in the day. Nice reaction and great tune!
@kylekerwin4993Ай бұрын
I will always love this song version. Jinx Dawson was the perfect singer made for it and she covered it for the movie and Coven released it as a single. Billy Jack the movie has and still is a favorite classic movie I could watch over and over again. Rest In Peace Tom Laughlin. You will always be the One Tin Soldier. Peace on Earth is all it said!

Great reaction, Sarah!! You always do such an amazing job of feeling the music you listen to!!!! And yes, The Coven did a nice job of covering this song as it was featured in the Billy Jack film in 1971, but the BEST version of the song is from 1969 by the Canadian band called The Original Caste, who also wrote the song with its simple yet powerful message, so props to them as well!!

I remember this song; it was played on the radio all the time! But I didn’t know it was from a movie and I’ve never seen Billy Jack. I’ll have to look it up and see what it’s all about. 😊

Its about not being a helpless mountain person. Billy Jack saw a problem and commenced kicking the problem's butt.

great reaction Sarah Dengler, check the movie Billy Jack out, where the origianl song comes from...Billy Jack was a native American counter-culture leader from the early 1970's here in USA, defended the weak and powerless and for peace and against war, One Love, One Family...the movie is awesome and Billy Jack was huge..

There was a Canadian version of this song by the group called The Original Cast, which, IMHO, is better. I may have this opinion because it was the version heard in Canada.

Another version by the group Original Caste was a better singer It think. This whole song describes how stupid and senseless war is if you realize the average life span of human beings, and we waste it on war instead of productive good things. Today all it takes is one mentally ill jerk with too much power to screw up the whole planet. But we have a lot more than one mentally ill jerk in the world...I am surprised we are all still here...

The lesson is that pacifist get wiped out and all they get is some regret from the ones that killed them a few generations later. This is why Israel is armed to the teeth. The story of Billy Jack basically is the same.
