Stan I’m an old Aussie who grew up listening to this group. Look up later concerts and interviews, especially Judith Durham. She is a very human, humble but talented individual. Great reaction, mate.

This particular performance is one of the best for an almost perfect balance of acoustic instruments, the voice of the blokes and Judith's amazing voice

The Seekers were another great Australian folk pop band from the 60's. You've done a few of their songs already. Other hits were "The Carnival Is Over", "Morningtown Ride", "Someday, One Day" etc. They have beautiful voices & harmonies. They don't make nostalgic music like this anymore. Reminds me of a simpler time.

"Now your lips can erase the heartache I've known." are some of the most romantic lyrics I've ever heard. Thank you for reviewing an old favorite that I never tire of hearing.❤

Ab-so-lute-ly one of the most unpretentious groups ever. Great harmonies built around a totally acoustic ensemble - and then there's Judith - - - a tiny little person with an absolute cannon of a voice.

I cried when I heard that Judith Durham had passed us by. If you get the chance find her singing "Danny Boy" as a solo, in 5 octaves. Her voice is just pure joy to listen to. The Seekers were my first musical love and always will be.

I've been a Seekers fan since I was a kid way back in the Sixties. They produced hit after hit from 1964 until 1968 until their carnival was definitely over and they were gone. They all went back to their private lives and careers, three remaining heavily involved in the music business and the fourth Athol Guy, him on the double bass, briefly going into politics and serving as an elected MP back home in Australia. The guys, Bruce, Keith and Athol also kept the band going in the 1970s with other female singers taking Judith Durham's place, but international success a second time proved elusive. Thank heavens the carnival did not stay over for the original and classic line-up of Judith Durham, Keith Potger, Bruce Woodley and Athol Guy reformed for a series of reunion concerts and world tours in the late 1980s and continued intermittently through the 1990s and into the 21st century right up to their retirement in 2014. The old songs from the 1960s continued to receive a rapturous applause wherever they went, but the writing talents of the group, and especially those of guitarist Bruce Woodley, proved that they had lost none of the talent that made them international stars in the 1960s. A number of entirely new songs were added to their song book, but to my mind there is none better than the anthemic I Am Australian. Many feel that this Bruce Woodley composition should deservedly be Australia's new national anthem, and who am I to disagree. I only know it is a wonderful and moving song that reaches the heart strings of would-be Australians everywhere. I would love to hear your reaction to I Am Australian.

STAN, My favorite Reactor: When this song was popular, we would've had an "old-fashioned AM radio". I remember some people having huge stand-alone wooden cabinet radios; with huge speakers probably dating from the 1940's, or even earlier. The Seekers music would sound so sweet, with their harmonies during this fairly recent era. THANK YOU! ☺

Sadly, Judith Durham, 79 passed away last Friday, 5th August, 2022 at a Melbourne hospital. And fellow Australian, Olivia Newton-John, 73 too. Rest In Peace to both pop icons..

As an Aussie it makes me so happy toat you love The Seekers. I've been listening to them since I was a young child and my parents used to play their records. A few or so *cough* years later I still love them. Judith is amazing and Keith Athol and Bruce are hugely talented musicians. Have a listen to Love is Kind Love is Wine and Colors of My Life both great songs by The Seekers Two of my favourites in fact.

🔹️ All you young people just discovering The Seekers now is so trippy to me. SInce I am an old fellow in my mid 50s & I remember listening to the Seekers on AM radio since the early 1970s as a 5 year old❗🤣 Still, it's better late than never that you young folks are listening to, & enjoying music from the 1960s & 1970s 👀👍❗

If you listened to Peter Paul and Mary as a child, then at least you were partly opened up to folk music, similar to the Seekers at an early age, as well. But this song and other folk songs go quite a ways beyond Puff the Magic Dragon in your expansive journeys.

Dude, a funny story which is true. The Seekers and Peter Paul & Mary were often confused. Once a PP&M fan handed Judith a PP&M album to autograph... Judith as polite as she was simply signed the album "Mary". God lover her...

Stan, if you love the seekers perhaps you will also enjoy an American group -- the Carpenters. Almost every song they produced has the same kind of harmony that you enjoy in the Seekers. Karen, the lead singer was also the group's drummer in the early days. Richard was the arranger and their music also is timeless. If you do a google search you wil find many really good ones though you might like to consider "Superstar," "Close to you" and "We've only just Begun." I would be surprised if you don't already know some of their music since thy had a large number of really big hits.
