Judith Durham's voice was simply exquisite, a thing of beauty still giving joy.

The Seekers were another great Australian folk pop band from the 60's. Judith Durham had such a beautiful voice. She just passed away last year. They had so many great hits including "Georgy Girl", "The Carnival Is Over", "A World Of Our Own", "Morningtown Ride", "Someday, One Day" etc. They have beautiful voices & harmonies. They don't make nostalgic music like this anymore. Reminds me of a simpler time.

This song is, perhaps, my favorite of all time. Absoutely flawless in its delivery, and with simply beautiful lyrics. You don't get stuff like this anymore.

I'm so happy you reacted to this song and that you love it. It came out when I was about 7 years old. I loved the song, and so one day I sang it to 3-month-old baby my mom was babysitting. The baby's eyes got large and he smiled and laughed through the whole song. The baby never did that for any other song. I think of that as "our song," the 7-year-old singer and the 3-month-old baby boy. ✌️🎶💙

Aw...that's so cute! Great story. I wonder if that little baby remembers anything, like if s/he heard it today, would there be any spark of recognition? Thanks for sharing your story.

Judith Durham had a wonderful voice. Sadly, we lost her a couple of years ago. R.I.P.

Judith Durham had one of the purest voices of the sixties and beyond. She passed away this year the same week that we lost Olivia Newton-John. Australia mourned two of the greatest voices ever and heavens choir now sounds even sweeter. You should listen to 'The Carnival Is Over' by them as is really shows Judiths lower range.

I enjoyed your reaction to a wonderfully harmonious Australian Group. After Karen Carpenter of "The Carpenters"., Judith Durham is my second favourite female singer of all time and I bought my first records in London in 1960:)

Judith was just a 20 year old on her first trip away from home. This was recorded at the main Abbey Road studio where the Beatles recorded.

Think about this : that was 1964. No digital signal processing. Those voices were REAL !! Judith Durham had one of the greatest voices of that era.

Their sound was magic. A mix that could never be repeated. She left the group for 20 years and the boys tried to find another. The they rejoined each other and did 25 more years of incredible performances. Check out some of their farewell performances at the end of their career. Their music could heal a soul.

There is something about that feel when you record your band Live to tape, which I have done many times and even later once digital became the norm in studios, still for certain kinds of bands and projects we would still play live to digital. Multi-tracking and layering is absolutely fantastic and a way to really express your creativity, but there's just something so real about the feel of a group performing live together in a good quality recording setup. Analog tape still rules for me but it has gotten extremely expensive because of availability.

Only doing the US? I hope that’s not true considering the massive impact the UK has had on American Pop and Rock music. I will just mention a few, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Dusty Springfield, The YardBirds, The Kinks, Cream, Eric Clapton, The Moody Blues…this is just from my generation. Someone else can mention newer recording acts.

Hey, Shon: Since you're asking for other artists and songs, will you please react to "Tryin' To Get The Feeling Again (Unreleased Alternate Take}" by Barry Manilow? Barry will have a one-hour Christmas special on NBC next Monday night (12/11) at 10PM, so it would be a great time to react to the uncut version of this song from nearly 50 years ago. Barry is LEGEND! He recently broke Elvis Presley's long standing live performance record in Las Vegas, where Barry has performed in residency on the same stage that Elvis did during the 1970s. Barry also had a musical he wrote called "Harmony" recently open on Broadway. He is a recording legend since 1973 with dozens of hits. Thanks!

Shon... You've let me down. Since I first found your channel a few months back I have been back every night to see what great songs you have discovered. I thought you were quite insightful for someone your age and I quite enjoy watching your reactions. You seem to truly appreciate the songs for what they are, instrumentally, lyrically and emotionally. Then you go and say something like "We don't typically steer away from the US but...". Firstly, are you not aware that you have already reacted to many artists who are not American? Secondly, why would you intentionally not want to feature non-American music anyway? This is why people around the world think that Americans think it's all about them. So, although I'm a bit disappointed, I'll stay subscribed for now hoping that soon you will learn, through music, that there is a big world out there beyond the US borders.
