They’re actually a not new band, they play together since they were 9, 12 and 14 years old, and they actually brought attention to them here at KZbin since they uploaded a cover for Enter Sandman and Kirk Hammett reacted to that amazed by how good they were being so young. They a couple of albums and an EP, and they actually got very good reaction from critics, but since they were totally independent they didn’t got the global attention, but a couple of years ago they signed with Lava Records and got this new EP where this song is included, and now they’re having a bigger international projection; they also recorded the very same song made them famous 8 years ago: Enter Sandman for the Blacklist Album with covers from Metallica. For this video, made a year ago, Alejandra, the bassist and the youngest sister, was still just 16 (just turned 17 a few weeks ago), and when she played the bass back for those first videos they uploaded, the bass was way too big for her, being the little one from the three sisters, now she’s the tallest. The middle one, Paulina, the drummer, she one wanted to participate at a drumm contest exclusively for women (Hit Like a Girl), but because of different reasons and having the time to participate, she couldn’t subscribe to that contest; next year she was called to participate, but actually not as a contestant, but to be one of the judges!! And she was just 15 years old. And all of them sing, although Alejandra doesn’t like it that much, so it’s VERY rare to see her as the main voice, but Paulina, being the drummer, is also the leading vocals for many of their songs. Daniela, the oldest one (just turned 22 less than a week ago) is the guitarist and leading vocals, with a very light, joyful, goofy attitude that contrasts with the way she transforms on stage, becoming powerful and even daring and defiant.

The Warning are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 17) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 19) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 22) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band. They had been uploading their musical journey to KZbin for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. USA. They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues. In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. This was recorded live in June 2019 at Foro Didi in Monterrey Mx (their hometown) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWiscnieg5mFg68 The Warning is totally fan-funded through Patreon, KZbin and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever! So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on KZbin and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star. On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. All that remains as of 22/02/21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end of 2021. In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica ablum. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song... The Warning is going to be right down you alley, given your favorites. These sisters were 21 (guitar), 19 (drums) and 16 (bass) at the time of this video last year, though they all have just had a birthday or will have in the coming days. These ladies are young and this is the EP from their 3rd album already and each song is amazing off this EP and all of their previous songs are great. This is one of those bands who I have yet to hear a bad song. My interest in music aligns with yours as I am a hard rock/blues rock guy (Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple etc.) and The Warning's music fits perfectly with my interests.

Last Year Metallica was celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Black Album, and they asked 53 artist of all Genre of Music to record covers from the 12 songs on the Album, and Metallica got all those covers and made The Blacklist Album and The Warning were one of those 53 Artist, they Got Together with Canadian Pop singer Alessia Cara and they recorded a cover of Enter Sandman, but this is not a note for note cover, Alessia and The Warning made this song their own it's like a Brand New Version of Enter Sandman you should check it out.

I left a lengthy comment on your recent VoB reaction to check out these girls as well. I did fail to mention another all female group, recently formed, called Plush. The David Draiman tweet also mentioned Plush and while they do not get much attention from the reaction community, they do deserve a look. Plush and VoB both lack the discography and KZbin presence that The Warning has quietly built up. Rock is in good (female) hands and The Warning are leading the way.

Superb 1st time reaction to The Warning Angel D! Greetings from Fresno, California. Music is indeed in the ears of the beholder. The Villarreal sisters are amazing songwriters and performers. Each one of their original songs is great. They purposely leave a lot of ambiguity in their songs and encourage listeners to have their own individual interpretation. Their second album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness as she fights for her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI Century Blood", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "Escape the Mind"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group last fall. They recently decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called Mayday. "Disciple" is my favorite track! The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 22, 20 and 17 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves! The oldest, Dany (Daniela) plays guitar, keyboards, lead vocals on 75% of their songs, backing harmonies. Pau (Paulina) plays drums, keyboards, lead vocals on 25% of their songs, backing harmonies. Ale` (Alejandra) plays bass, keyboards, backing harmonies. The drummer Pau begins writing around 75% of their songs. In her songs, she starts with a concept, then works on chord progressions and basic song structure on piano while adding lyrics. She then brings it before her sisters and together they transpose each individual instrument's part; making changes along the way. They also complete the lyrics together; since Pau may only bring one verse and a chorus. All 3 must unanimously approve of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Nothing is set in stone until it makes it through the gauntlet. Pau has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both Dany and Ale` write equally great songs; just not as many. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. I hope you react to more from The Warning. They are an incredibly talented all girl band. They have also carved out their distinctive style of metal. A couple all girl hard rock/metal bands from the past you might check out would be The Runaways, with Joan Jett-late 1970’s and Vixen-1980’s. Wonderful reaction as usual.

Many of us that have commented or will comment are all so proud of these 3 amazing sisters. Dany 22 years old as of 5 days ago is the lead vocalist and guitarist. Pau, who will be 20 tomorrow, the drummer and vocals. Ale the bass player who also just turned 17 in December. The Warning have been playing together for almost 8 years now. As you love Metallica you should check out their first cover of Enter sandman in 2014. The you tube video has over 23M views. The Warning was invited by Metallica to do a version of one of their songs for their Blacklist album. They chose Enter sandman again but done a rendition and not a cover in 2021 with Alessia Cara. You should also check that out along with Choke, Dull knives, Dust to Dust and Animosity to just name of few out of their catalogue of 40+ songs. When it comes to lyrics and meaning I like this verse from 'Guitar Man' by Bread (band from back in the 70's) "Then you listen to the music and you like to sing along. You want to get the meaning out of each and every song. Then you find yourself a message and some words to call your own and take 'em home" You find meanings in the songs that are relevant to you and, none are wrong and each meaning is special to you. Thank you! The reason I do this is not just to emphasize sections of the video or song, but I have become more clever with editing to dodge the infamous KZbin blocks. This way, if a video get blocked & I have to blur it out,(in the video display box) at least there are periodic breaks within the video that show the band and the song, and if they are short, they get around the blocks. Also, with the full screen shot being so short, I can simply adjust the brightness or the saturation of them, insert text etc and they get past the blocks. I appreciate your comment though, thank you xo

Fun fact, since you like Metallica, they approached the girls to contribute a song for The Blacklist Album and they DELIVERED with a totally reimagined version of Enter Sandman that I like better tan the original! Just found them a few months ago. Absolutely love 'em! Pure, "straight-in-your-face" hard rock. My bet: They will be called "legends" during their living days. (Easy, I know: they're pretty young.) 2 more things: One: Ladies in hard rock. Just to mention "The Pretty Reckless", "Halestorm", "In This Moment", "Unleash The Archers". Look 'em up and enjoy! Two: the "older ladies": Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Heart... some german ones: Jutta Weinhold, Inga Rumpf, Doro Pesch. So: lot's of female voices in rock. The "diva": Grace Slick. A genre, not as "dominated by male" as many of us think. Greetings from the far north of Germany!

Angel, thanks for this reaction of one of my favorite bands. They're phenomenal, especially considering their ages. For your next Warning reaction, I recommend their song "Choke." If you're interested in another all-female metal band, I STRONGLY recommend a band from Switzerland called Burning Witches. Try their song "Hexenhammer," the official music video.
