I say it was Miracle this song was even Recorded, Metallica only gave them a week to record the song and get it to them, and Alessia lives in Canada and The Warning live in Mexico and they couldn't get together because of Covid, Alessia and The Warning were talking through Zoom on the computer.

Alessia Cara and The Warning did exactly what Metallica wanted for The Blacklist album, reimagine the songs and with this collaboration they are able to reach a much broader audience which is great for a album that is meant to raise money for children's charity. Superb harmonies and lead vocals throughout while still paying homage to the original, that heavy riff at the end hit so hard the way they arranged it. Its my favorite song on the Blacklist just so fresh and original. Great reaction and observations Asia and BJ. Thanks !

Daniela on guitar sings lead with Alessia C., not Alejandra on bass. The collab was suggested by Chris Smith of 21 Entertainment Group to Metallica for the Blacklist album and Metallica liked the idea. Alessia and The Warning are featured artists with 21 Entertainment Group. This was Alessia's first venture into rock / heavy rock. TW rearranged the song in Mexico, sent a demo to Alessia in Canada and was mixed by David Bendeth in New Jersey. David B. is the producer of TW 3rd studio album, which was recorded last autumn.

Great re-imagination of this iconic song. They picked up where Metallica left off and turned this into a haunting lullaby. This is what happens after mom and dad turn off the lights and close the door. They lead through never never land, past the creepy woman saying the prayer until they hit you in the face with the original riff.

I love everything about this! The Villarreal sisters' voices blend really well with Alessia's. Their harmonies are spectacular. Their arrangement of this timeless classic is off the charts. I love the ADDICTED statement Asia. In respect to The Warning I am too. At least that's how I'm going to read it. Something about these young ladies excites my musical appreciation more than any band since I listened to The Beatles and Queen nearly every day back in the 70s. Pau is a force of Nature and her sisters are Magical beings. They are like a family of real-life superheroes.

Exactly, how do you use a pop singer and a hard rock band to cover a metal song? And while you're at it, you have to do what Metallica said, play the song backwards or upside down or do something to make it your own. And they did it in a week while Alessia was in Canada and they were in Mexico.

All 3 of them deserve the credit considering what an amazing singer and guitar player Dany is and what an amazing bass player Ale is. @@daveg4777 Hard to say best version, when it is damn near impossible to top Metallica. I have heard original artists be topped before. (Sound of Silence is a perfect example) But, Metallica's original version is just perfection. I would say impressive re-imagining of the song. But, not even close to the original. I am also not saying I don't like it. Because I do, but again...you can't top the original. Basically it is as close to impossible to top as you can get. The song was just absolutely perfect when it came out. My "this is like a pop version" wasn't an insult, it was just that it is extremely different, and mellow in comparison. I was in the Navy when Metallica released the Black Album. There were actually people who didn't like it. I happen to think it was one of the best, if not the best album they ever released. I mean it was a metal masterpiece. People actually stood outside record stores in a line, like they were buying the new iPhone lol. I think Pantera to this day, was the best metal band to ever walk the face of the earth though.

Well....Metallica requested this cover. They wanted something completely different that their originals. Metallica and their team loved this cover. It was even recommended to Marvel who love it so much that they chose it as the soundtrack for their next video game. Not sure what you would have liked to hear. I assume you must prefer the Weezer version 🤣. BTW don't give hate to the reactors because you do not like the song... this is low. Ok for you not to like, but be constructive and original.
