Tom Jones is a Welsh singer who has one of the smoothest powerful voices around. And he was a showman too, in fact he was a big heart-throb with the ladies. He has so many hits such as "It's Not Unusual", "What's New Pussycat?", "Green, Green Grass of Home", "Delilah", "She's a Lady". He covers a lot of genres. He is still performing & is a coach on "The Voice" UK version. He also had a variety show from 69 - 71 & had some of the biggest music stars at the time.

Tom Jones was married to his wife for 59 years. She was his childhood sweetheart. She passed away in 2016 at the age of 75. He is still alive and singing just the same at the sweet age of 81. He is one of the judges on The Voice Britain. There are clips of the other judges egging him on to sing, and he is still going strong. In 1 clip, a young man comes on and does a song, and Tom is the only judge that turns around. They, when he tells Tom his name is Peter Donegan, Tom asks him if he ever heard of Lonnie Donegan, and Peter says, "That's my dad". Tom, in disbelief mentions that Lonnie wrote Tom's huge hit, I'll Never Fall In Love Again. Tom asks Peter if he'd like to do it with him, and he says, "Yeah". Here's a link to the clip ... I'm positive you'll love it ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4TSoZSqp5t0pac ). It will definitely clear up any doubts about Tom's current ability to sing.

Now 80 years young, the Welshman Tom Jones was a Las Vegas fixture for decades. Just 20 miles down the road from the coal town where he was born and raised, in the dockyard slums of the Welsh capital, Cardiff, another world famous singer had been born five years earlier. She went on also to star in Las Vegas for over 40 years. She is the highest selling British female singer of all time - Shirley Bassey. Try her song Goldfinger, one of the three James Bond theme sings she sang for the Bond francise.

@Asia and BJ ...TJ has a LOT of rocking performances. Many folks relate to both the music and the lyrics of "She's A Lady"... it's a great song Paul Anka wrote, and Tom Jones really rocks it. Not only does the man have that incredible voice, he has those drop-dead sexy, masculine looks and such smooth moves. Lol... I want to run my fingers through his curly hair. My favorite of Tom's early hits, though, is "Help Yourself." The song is so upbeat, and Tom really puts it over. Its lyrics are one big invitation... and that's one invitation to which I would gladly respond! (see those lyrics below) HELP YOURSELF Love is like candy on a shelf You want to taste and help yourself The sweetest things are there for you Help yourself, take a few That's what I want you to do. We're always told repeatedly The very best in life is free And if you want to prove it's true Baby, I'm telling you.... Just help yourself to my lips, to my arms, Just say the word, and they are yours Just help yourself to the love in my heart Your smile has opened up the door The greatest wealth that exists in the world Could never buy what I can give Just help yourself to my lips, to my arms, And then let's really start to live Allllllllll right. Yeah.... My heart has love enough for two More than enough for me and you I'm rich with love, a millionaire I've so much, it's unfair Why don't you take a share Just help yourself to my lips, to my arms Just say the word, and they are yours Just help yourself to the love in my heart Your smile has opened up the door The greatest wealth that exists in the world Could never buy what I can give So help yourself to my lips, to my arms And then let's really start to live Just help yourself to my lips, to my arms Just say the word, and they are yours Just help yourself to the love in my heart Your smile has opened up the door.... This song Rocks a lot more than anything else Tom Jones ever did. (Except maybe his cover of Prince's Kiss.) Unfortunately, when Elvis Presley did his comeback to music, he thought he was competing against Ton Jones instead of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and the other rock artists of the day.
