***Tom Drops a New Video Tomorrow Morning @ 9PST, 11Cental !!! This song is the one that blew him up, during this time he was living with Nova & their electricity was turned off. Their next-door neighbor was kind enough to let them run an extension cord from the garage to their refrigerator so what little food they had didn't spoil. Tom was smoking his last cigarette on the porch I believe when he wrote this song, he says that he believes this song was heaven sent also the red light in the video was the only light they had plugged into that extension cord that they could use to film. I believe they were living in a crappy rental in Crenshaw with cock roaches climbing the walls at the time. A really inspirational story these 2 have. #HOG4Life

I don't think many people understand how talented Tupac really was, once you get passed all that gangster rap sh*t.

Great reaction! Eminem was a huge influence on Tom. In fact, Tom purchased one of Em's beats and made the song Dear Slim - a reference to Em's Stan song. It's worth a watch and listen if you haven't already done so. I would love to see your mom react to some of these songs with you :)

Thanks for the information! My mom would probably like it, I'd hope. She might get lost in the lyrics for sure though.

HOG4ever!! I am happy your enjoy this rabbit hole of Tom and Nova. His fan platform appreciate it for sure! His lyrics will surprise you more than once and his changes of style, too. He is so versatil. And Nova, is [for me] the best female rapper i have known. And she is profesional in everything she does [edit videos, shots videos, produce, she even wrote a kid book]. Love your reaction!!! Much love for all of you ❤ Tom and Nova are real and unique. ❤️🇪🇦🙏

Off topic but on point..I went to a kid rock show ...the venue was changing 150 ...kid rock fought them on the prices...ended up at the front of the stage for 35 bucks ..it was epic to see an artist tell them my fans deserve better..went to a ludacris show it was only 50 and still near the front

This is Tom's breakout song, he sets out his change of direction, music with a purpose, and has stuck to it,. Tom is actually a big fan of Eminem but will be honestly critical, see Tom's - Dear Slim, also Tupac's was the first CD he ever bought as a kid. Great reaction and rants - Subbed. #HOG UK here for it

New subscriber love your reaction I have a few song suggestions since your going down the rabbit hole. Don't Look Down and No Response is Tom getting back at his haters, Best Rapper Ever is Tom fighting his inner demon then there's the 2 love songs Nova wrote one for Tom called Gang Gang and Tom's to her is Ghost with Tom's parents in it at the end. That will keep you busy for a little bit lol. God Bless and looking forward to your next reaction

The songs that he doesn't make a video for , in my opinion , are actually better than what you see on KZbin. So buy his albums , you'll remember almost every song by name because Toms hooks and wordplay are phenomenal.

I the middle 90s I was 16,and I bought my first album, All Eyez On Me from Tupac. But around 2002 I got dissapointed with rap and hip hop, I stopped buying, and listening Dre and Snoop. Only Tupac and ODB I had playing. Until last year, when I bought 6 Tom Macdonalds albums. The guy brings what I missed. I am Dutch, so the political songs aren't my thing, but Dont Look Down, I Hate Hip-Hop, I'm Sorry, and especially BoomBap101... Thats him just going full throttle.

Disco is weird. For some reason it became mocked and hated. Every generation has its own music and every type of music eventually fades away. I've seen the rise and fall of new wave, grunge, rock (not the rise of rock, but I was there for its fall in the 90s), heavy metal, techno, industrial, and goth just to name a few. When they lost popularity I never saw any special hatred for them. They just faded away from the mainstream and kept small followings. I grew up after disco was already gone so I was never a fan of it but when I've listened to it I didn't think it was all that bad. I don't understand why disco in particular has just a terrible reputation.
@ErrantJourney Жыл бұрын
I grew up at a time when Disco was still fairly popular, but not overly so. I think the people who disliked the music itself just made them feel like it was intrusive to the point where it reflects a lifestyle that promoted a very promiscuous lifestyle mingled with some of the heavier drugs that were not tolerated by the majority of the older generation of the time. It was a carefree kind of attitude and a do as you please lifestyle that was just looked down by a lot of people. The music itself was great in my opinion. It had a beat and rhythm that was hard not to like. This is all just my opinion of course. I know a lot of people who used to hate it, but have come to enjoy that actual music now that society has changed so much over the years. Disco's stereotype of carefree, do what you will attitude is no longer a factor.
