As a 27 year old who’s grown up in the pop era, people are usually surprised when I say that my favorite band is Tool. Between their sound, perfected technique, lyrics, and topics they perform about, it’s the closest band to perfection in any genre. Some of my favorite songs by them are The Pot, Lateralus, Schism, and Sober. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going down the Tool rabbit hole. They’re absolutely incredible. All love Sebs ❤️🤙🏻

I started my Tool journey with the album Opiate in the early 90's, Undertow was great, but when Ænima came out I was a fan for life. 25 years later, 46 and 2 still give me goosebumps. Wonder how will it affect myself and then other fellow Tool fans. Bless you man, and everyone that reads this. Much love!

Eh, one thing that I want to add - your thing is like "shit, do you hear the lyrics, wtf, holy shit", and others mostly is just "hey this sounds amazing, 10/10". There is a difference between appreciating good music, and appreciating good music AS WELL AS good lyrcis. I feel like nobody listens to lyrics these days. Maybe I'm a boomer, an old school. Who cares. Your videos are top notch and I will fight anyone that thinks differet. Especially the 10.000 days and Maynards mother topic. Tears guaranteed. Tool are 4 amazing musicians who together make up a truly unique band. One of the greatest vocalists ever in Maynard and Danny Carey on drums is one of the absolute best ever. When you said you like prog rock I had a feeling you were gonna love this song. You would be doing yourself a huge disservice if you don’t continue on this Tool journey and listen to more from them. They just put out an album recently and the drummer Danny is like 60 years old and still getting it. He is known for his polyrhythms and odd time signatures. The song starting to play at the end is “Lateralus” based on the Fibonacci sequence. It’s a masterpiece that needs to be checked out. “Vicarious” and “The Pot” are probably a couple you’d very much enjoy.

The song that was going to play afterward was Lateralus, the title track of the album this song is from. If you like deep your going to love Tool, it always a pleasure to see a Tool fan be born, and it seems like you couldn't have started with a more perfect song fo where you are in your life. Tools name is at first in reference to a Penis when they started out, then as shifted into a different meaning over the decades for many, some would consider their music as a spiritual "Tool" given how nakedly it explores subject matters from the most uncomfortable to the most profound. You always get something new with every listen, especially with those songs that resonate.
@BricktowneMedia3 жыл бұрын
Liked, Subbed and Rung the Bell. Friggin loved your sincerity and obviously I loved that you loved the tracks. Welcome to Tool my friend. Now the Army will show up. If you love diving deep into the music and lyrical content of music and LOOKING for the deep-end, dive into any and ALL TOOL. I shart you not my friend. Every album from their EP Opiate (1992) to Fear Inoculum which just dropped in 2019 (after a 13 year hiatus...again, not one single Shart here.) You will not be disappointed though of course there are some true standouts. Parable/Parabola is for SURE top tier Tool. It's off Lateralus as you know and my friend, many people regard that as one of if not the finest album ever committed to recorded media. So look, I know I sound hyperbolic, but this band is not just on a whole new level, they made their own dimension, and are skilled enough magicians to pull us all in there with them ever time we let them into our ears. I am not even going to make a recommendation you will soon be flooded with them...just, take your time, really savor these first listens...and then be perpetually amazed in the years to come as each listening renders new thoughts and revelations and framework. They are truly master of their craft, and they are unlike anyone else. Though their influence reaches far and wide and deep. They can be felt echoing through the halls of modern metal and hard rock and a lot of other places. I look forward to watching your progression with Tool.

Welcome to the rabbit hole of a journey that is Tool. You should do Lateralus next, but before you do look into the Fibonacci sequence if you aren't familiar. Will make the experience of the song that much greater. Be ready for one of the greatest musical journeys ever with Tool. The song that started playing after Parabola ended was Lateralus btw. Edit: Try to listen, really listen and embrace the music, without pausing as much as possible. It makes it so much more of an experience as opposed to just music. Second Edit: "what time signature is this?" That is the million dollar question with any Tool song you listen to. Danny Carey is one of the greatest technical drummers of all time. Right up there with Neil Peart.
