As a TOOL fan for roughly 20 years, I'm going to be honest for a second. It almost brings me to tears of joy, seeing someone hear TOOL for the first time and honestly enjoying the full experience. And understanding it better than most people do. I can tell that everything you are saying and feeling is a completely honest reaction. I feel the same way. Thought just today, it like seeing a child grow and develop. Start to take their first steps. I found one, brand new, listen to this first song 3 days ago. He saw Maynard on Joe Rogan, heard him talk about the Fibonacci sequence found Maynard interesting and had to check Tool out. He started with Laturalus, told him that was like starting school in the fifth grade, but he got it right away. I told him to go back to Undertow, that's where I started, I heard Sober, that bass line, Danny's high-hat driving the song forward and that was it, like a junkie I was hooked. I'll drop the link, check him out, give him some pointers, watch a new born grow.... spiral out... keep going 🌀

Great reaction to a great song this is definitely in my top 5 of my favorite 50 other songs by Tool...all also in my top 5. You mentioned you were doing this for your daughters...I love that. And yep...Tool has several songs that Maynard wrote for his son. More of as a warning...like that fear you get with newborns that make a new dad feel the mantle of protection...I would recommend H next. H is the middle name of his son and he warns us all through the eyes of a father to not repeat the cycle of hatred and fear that we may have received as a child. It is interesring.

I've been Tool fan since 93'. No other band can take you a journey like Tool. Maynard's vocals in mixed so that it sits right in the middle of the music, unlike a lot of band where they place the vocal out front. His vocals Become more like a instrument, blended perfectly "between the sounds". If you want to see what Maynard come do go check out A Perfect Circle, one of his other bands, it will blow you away. I would suggest "3 libras". Welcome to the Army, Spiral out, keep going.
