I was at this show. Sunday, May 29, 1983 Devore California, the desert of San Bernardino county. Recently turned 17 before this show and I have to say it was one of the best shows of my life. I was one of 350,000+ metalheads, rockin out and partying in the desert. Quiet Riot, Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions and Van Halen to close out the night. I’ve seen some great shows throughout my life, but this definitely was one of the best. Triumph was by far the best band that day. A really fun reaction, thanks for bringing back some awesome memories.👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤙🤙🤙🤙

This was from the 1983 US Festival, perhaps the largest attendance ever. The lineup that day in order was Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions, ending with Van Halen. At the time of Triumph’s appearance, the crowd was estimated at 350,000! Most people there that day thought Triumph had the best performance, which Eddie Van Halen took offense at, but apparently Van Halen were all drunk, so……

He had the Farrah Fawcett hair-do for sure!❤ He was 29 yrs. old at the time of this concert, happily married and a one yr. old at home in Canada. He is now 70 yrs. old still married to his wife of 48 yrs. and has 4 adult children and 5 grandkids! (And his hair is as white as snow) still hunky though! I last saw him in 2022 and will fly from Virginia to Canada to see him again in 3 wks.! I can’t wait!! He has a memoir out now and a book of poetry. You should definitely check them out!!

Great reaction ladies! Triumph were a Canadian hard rock band that were formed in 1975 and were popular in the 70s and 80s. The band are: Rik Emmitt vocals/guitar, Mike Levine bass/keyboards/backing vocals, and Gil Moore drums/lead and backing vocals. They had a string of hits that were played often on rock radio. Other songs worth checking out are: Lay It On The Line, Magic Power, and World of Fantasy!!

triumph the definition of rock stars, 3 member band, think about that, the lead singer rik emmitt one of the best vocalists, and lead guitar in all of the 70's, you probably have heard lay it on the line or magic power, look at those from this same 1983 us festival in san bernardino ca i saw triumph live twice, after their 79 its just a game album where every track is fire and the 82 allied forces album, super incredible band live my favorite songs are its just a game and suitcase blues from its just a game, so happy you're exploring this band, they were huge 2 me in my teen years, wait till you hear rik sing lay it on the line, in private listen to the whole its just a game album, just as good as boston's 76 debut album, 70's and 80's rock n metal thee best music ever created

These guys should have been WAY bigger than they were. They had an image problem They were kind of the good guys of hard rock/heavy metal. Plus, most if not all of their songs were uplifting feel good songs. This was a huge heavy metal concert and they knocked it out of the park! In my opinion Rik Emmett may be the best lead singer lead guitarist combo of all time. His voice is just amazing but he's also one hell of a guitar player. In this same concert he plays his electric guitar like a classical guitarist and it is just amazing. You need to check out Lay it on the line. You may have heard this song possibly. Middle-aged Canadian here! It was a rare day growing up in the 80s that I *didn't* hear at least one Triumph song on the radio. (Along with legendary Toronto boys Rush, of course!) So Donna, I'm guessing you know the great Rik Emmett's voice from "Magic Power," which was by far their biggest hit here (among many), and was probably their biggest song south of the border as well. If you hear that song, you'll probably remember it, and your daughter and granddaughter will love it! PS: Also, Donna, Since you're younger than me, it's completely impossible for you to be a grandmother. Just ask my cat how irresponsibly youthful I still am! Oh shit, I forgot to feed the cat. Anyway, not quite ready for kids here.

I'm 51 and only just recently saw this video and this performance somewhere else. I've always liked Triumph and I've been a guitarist since I was around 8 or 9 years old, but hadn't seen this. When I saw it I couldn't believe how awesome it was and couldn't believe how he got that tone for his guitar. I asked around and about three months later I bought similar equipment to get the sound. I got pretty close with my limited budget. I'm happy. And I'm happy you all did this reaction. Love! Edit: Donna, these guys are from Canada, as some have mentioned, but the voice you recognize might be Geddy Lee's voice from Rush. Rik (the singer/guitarist) took a lot of inspiration from Geddy. Both being from Canada. Again, love you all!

thats how you end a rock show....and they were just one of many bands that day.....sucks to be whatever band had to follow that....the energy is amazing.....of course its a great iconic song written for a family member (I think an Aunt) who was fighting cancer....
