My dad met Charlie when they both came back from Vietnam. they were great friends & I grew up backstage at most of those concerts. the man was a saint & a maestro of the fiddle, but also guitar & other instruments. sadly, he passed back in July 2019. the big band upstairs just got another musical wizard 🫡🙌🍻 we miss you Charlie

I still hate the fact that they gave no consideration to when the song was jammin......and then nothing but static, hiss, a few pops for good measure, a kerrr-thunk, more static, hiss, a few pops for good measure......and it'sa blastin again. The amount of great songs that were butchered to put onna 8-track. Veteran meself......Respects to your Dad!!!

I first met Charlie back in 1995 and he was already a legend then; I met him at a truck stop, his bus had stopped to fuel and the group was eating and Charlie was happy b.s.'ing and signing autographs, he was a one of a kind person that was straight forward, told amazing stories and sang and played music about some of them.

I Saw him at Harrah's Lake Tahoe summer of 2018. Great show🎸 All kinds of fun🎸🎉Similar to "Give me Three Steps" by Lynard Skynyrd since it's also based on real event. I had long hair and hitchhiked through much of the south before this song came. I never had any issues with older drivers. Many of them gave me a ride. You see, lots of them had hitchhiked after they got out of WWII or Korea. It did take me and my friend a whole day to get a ride in Jackson, Mississippi though. Hitchhiking was common then.

He was a super artist, was dying with cancer, and was pissed. He defied dying. And this isn't a pleasant song. He spoke strongly facing death. A powerful performance. Do it!
