I discovered this song a few years ago when I bought a "Best of Van Morrison" CD such a good song. Especially the part where those horns come in/trumpet, tenor sax and I think trombone. It's "Van" Morrison, not "Jim" Morrison from the Doors. Van was in the group "Them" and sang "Gloria". I used to get the names confused to. They were both great.

This is another great performer who's music I grew up with. His recording career spans nearly seven decades. Van Morrison is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. He can play guitar, harmonica, keyboards & saxophone. In the mid 60's he was in the band "THEM" & their biggest hits were "Gloria", "Baby Please Don't Go", "Here Comes The Night" & "Mystic Eyes". Van Morrison later went solo & has had tons of hits such as "Brown Eyed Girl", "Moondance", "Tupeleo Honey", "Into The Mystic" & "It Stoned Me" etc.

The “Moondance” album came out on January 27, 1970 and was instantly huge. It’s one of the rare albums that doesn’t have one bad song. You two could react to every song on it, and no one would complain. His most famous song is probably “Brown Eyed Girl” from 1967, another great song to react to.

I think you're confusing Jim Morrison with Van Morrison in some of your comments. Jim Morrison was lead singer with the Doors whereas Van was initially with the band Them in the 60s but then progressed with his successful solo career. Jim Morrison died quite a while back.

The whole Moondance album is fantastic. I discovered it one night while driving between Ithaca, NY and northern NJ. As I was going through the middle of nowhere somwhere between Great Bend, and Scranton, PA, a radio station played the first side of the album (This was in the vinyl days when albums had two sides). If you hear this album (especially the first side) while driving alone sometime after midnight, it's a wholly different experience. This song, in particular, which is the last song on the first side of the album, transported me to another, mystical place. As soon as I got home, I bought the album.
