Prince wrote, played all instruments and produced the song and their entire album. Vanity is arguably one of the most beautiful women ever. She was a model and an actress there are many posters to hang on your wall for sure!! Prince wrote some of the BEST songs for female artists… check out Sugar Walls and Sex Shooter! Prince wrote for so many and has been sampled by so Many different artists. I predict you jam out to music not even realizing Prince is where it originated!

She died in 2016 man. She became an ordained preacher the latter part of her life. She was a real beauty though. She's a true icon of the 80s.

Not just back in the day. I think she was still a smokeshow when she passed. The last pic I saw was about 2008 and she looked very good. I just can’t envision Vanity being unattractive.🤷🏽‍♀️

Got what from Rick James? To be honest Rick was more funky than Prince. RJ did nothing but funk, while Prince’s early music was more varied. Prince dabbled in other forms like Rock and Roll, New Wave, and Pop. I’m more of a Prince fan than RJ but as funky as Prince was his early career was not his funkiest period.

In the 80s he was a really busy guy. 3 Time albums 2 Vanity/Appollonia 6 albums 2 Sheila E 1 album from The Family 10 album for himself 2 albums were doubles (1999,SOTT) 3 motion picture soundtracks (Purple Rain, Under The Cherry Moon, and Batman) He did all of that plus songs he wrote for others, 2 movies, and the 2 Jazz albums that I totally forgot about. (Madhouse 8, 16 )

I can only guess .but I really think some of the songs of 1999 and a lot of the songs of purple rain was about his crazy relationship with Vanity. Most of the songs of purple rain were about someone leaving him. Look at the lyrics." How can you just leave me standing?" Etc. Even the song Purple Rain was about someone leaving him. "I never meant to cause you any sorry and so fought? Think about it. He and Vanity both spoke of their love for each other and crazy relationship. Vanty left. Susan stuck around. Susan was a beauty. But Vanity was that chick. I think she cause prince the most heartache. That's why they couldn't stay together. When doves cry and those other songs were about vanitys departure. It's been said he hinted on the " The beautiful ones " being about Vanitys leaving. Look at the Lyrics of the songs. Then look at the circumstances of who he was involved with.

And she wasn't a one-night stand. The original group was called the Hookers, before vanity came along. Vanity had an unreleased called "vibrator" w prince doing a funny voiceover which made it comical. Also vanity 6's "Sex shooter" is a good one too, better than the Apollonia 6 version
