Yes it was Patty Loveless who is super nice and sounds good on her own. Vince Gill can do anything musically and us a great guitarist. He owns many guitars that fill the whole room. Vince is also married to Amy Grant which is a great singer/artist herself. Great reaction and love seeing you guys more now that I am getting well. Talk to you soon on discord hopefully. Patty Loveless, sings the backup. Probably one of the most underrated female country artists. She has done a lot of backup singing and duets with other Country Music artist, as well as having her own solo career and many excellent songs. "Go Rest High on That Mountain" is another amazing Vince Gill song. Patty sand with him at George Jones funeral celebration. Vince broke down but Patty being the amazing person that she is, held it together and took over parts of the song until Vince could pull himself together and finish. She is total Class in my opinion.

Vince sang background on Patty’s first hit and she sang background on this. Their voices are so perfect together. Her first hit was “Timber, I’m Falling In Love,” if you want to hear that one. I agree with Asia mostly in that male singers are promoted more by record execs & radio. Dozens of same sounding guys making it but women need to be phenomenal & beautiful to get heard. Not 100% but mostly. Ask your friends favorite rock band, singer/songwriter, hip hop artist, etc. (Heart, Joni Mitchell, Mary J Blige)

Yes, that is Patty Loveless in the background. They back one another up a lot on their tunes, because their voices blend so beautifully. She is a star in her own right. Vince has the voice of an angel & many great hits. The song he wrote for the brother he lost, 'Go rest high on that mountain' is stunning too & I have heard it played at a zillion funerals. And, if I am not mistaken, Patty sings on the official version too. Patty has 'Blame it on your heart' or "I try to think about Elvis' for a fun tune & 'Lonely too long' for a sexy song & 'You don't even know who I am' is great too. Then 'How can I help you say goodbye' is probably her biggest hit.

You may have been hearing a steel guitar that is played horizontally, from a rest from a standing or sitting position, or it could have been a lap steel guitar played laying across the lap from a sitting position. Just a wonderful instrument that is used often in country music to emote sadness. I agree Asia, when Patti came in on the chorus it really set the song off.... definitely gave it an added dimension, gets the goose bumps going. Great reaction guys, TY.
