Wagakki Band is a fantastic band. All the members are Jedi level musicians. You will be floored. Yuko, the singer, formed the band. She is at the highest level musician and is a bona fide college professor of Shinging. She can play piano and also was trained in sword dace.

Wagakki band is made of 8 musicians who each are master of their instrument. They are: - Suzuhana Yuko: singer and shigin (traditional japanese poetry), piano, fan and sometimes sword dance - Machiya: lead guitar - Asa: Bass guitar - Wasabi: western style drum kit - Ninagawa Beni: tsugaru shamisen (the 3 strings instrument) - Ibukuro Kiyoshi: koto (the long horizontal harp like instrument) - Kaminaga Daisuke: shakuhachi (traditional flute) - Kurona: wadaiko (japanese drums) I strongly recommend reacting to their live performances, for two reasons. First one: they are far better on stage than on studio, and they are already great on studio. Second one: their old label usually have reactions to their music video taken down; this doesn't happen with live performances. Glad you stumbled upon another great musical experience from Japan! In case you wanna see another song with Amy Lee and Wagakki Band, they actually made a song together. It's called "Sakura Rising" and you should definitely check it out! :)

I'm glad that whetted your appetite for Wagakki Band, this was taken from one of their symphonic night gigs, where they use an orchestra as well as the regular band. They are an 8-piece band featuring Yuko Suzuhana on vocals, she often sings a traditional style called Shigin. Machiya, Guitar and vocals, Asa, Bass, Wasabi, Drums. Then the traditional musicians, Beni Ninagawa on Tsugaru Shamisen (the banjo looking instrument), Diasuke Kaminaga, Shakuhaichi (flute), Kiyoshi Iburuko, Koto (horizontal harp) and Kurona on Wadaiko (traditional drums). All of them are extremely talented musicians and they have a wide range of songs, best to try the live videos as they are great performers. Their best-known songs are probably Homura+Akatsuki no Ito and Senbonzakura, if you are wondering about what next to try.

Their music also feels like Wagakki Band, but in its purest form.

Subscribed and glad to be part of the family!!! Can't go wrong with the Wagakki Band, so many great songs and no they are not a symphonic band, just very talanted and were askedd to do this concert. There are other great pieces from this concert of theirs.

This is from Wagakki Band Premium Symphonic Night Vol. 2 Live & Orchestra in Osaka-Jo Hall 2020. A one night show only. Where Amy Le was the special guest for the performance of this song. She was also involved in the last verse of Senbozakura which they played after this and the last song before the encore. They also recorded a song together "Sakura Rising". Wagakki means Japanese musical instrument. You have around 100 songs to choose from. I recommend "Hakushu Kassai" from Daishinnenkai 2018. "Wagakki" is Japanese for folk or traditional instruments. They have a singer and seven musicians, who play a mixture of typical rock instruments and traditional Japanese instruments. So an electric guitar, bass guitar, and a western drum set, plus a second drummer on traditional Japanese drums. Then a Koto (sort of a Japanese zither or harp), a Shakuhachi (bamboo flute), and a Shamisen (3 string banjo type instrument). And of course at this concert they were accompanied by an orchestra (and Amy Lee). Most of their concerts it's just the eight members performing.

Yuko is my absolute favourite Japanese singer, closely followed by Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus, Fuki Commune) and Mayu (Nemophila), then Saiki (Band-Maid) and Asami (Lovebites). But sometimes the ranking is fluid, depending on my mood. Apart from the bands in parentheses, I will name some more to send you in the deep canon, that is Japanese Rock and Metal: Asterism, Lonesome_blue, SHOW-YA, Gacharic Spin, Destrose, Ningen Isu, Bridear, DOLL$BOXX. There are more, those are just off the top of my head. Greetings from Germany. PS: If you want to delve into Symphonic Metal look for Nightwish and Epica, you won't be disappointed.
