The outlaw Waylon was married to pretty little Jessie Colter. They inspired Stevie Nicks to write "Leather and Lace" that she recorded with Don Henley.

I met him when he was playing with Waymore's Outlaws. I heard that he didn't give autographs. True or not, he signed and dated my telecaster. Thank you so much.

His album “Honky Tonk Heroes” is one of those that does not have a bad song on it. Billy Joe Shaver wrote most of the songs.

I've always enjoyed Waylon's music especially from the 60's-80's. I remember his theme song "Good Ol' Boys" from "The Dukes Of Hazzard". Some other songs I like are "Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line", "Luckenbach, Texas", "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way", "Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit's Done Got Out Of Hand?", "Amanda", "Good Hearted Woman", "I'm A Ramblin' Man" etc. He was part of the legendary "Highwaymen" supergroup with Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson & Johnny Cash.

If you watch interviews of the Highwaymen, they(Waylon, Willie, Kris & Johnny) talk about all the stuff they did while on drugs(60s/70s). It's very interesting to listen to & amazing they survived(only by the Grace of God). Waylons wife Jessi Colter stuck with Waylon through it all. You can tell they really loved each other! When they sing duets together they gives each other that "look" & keep smiling. You could say Jessi was Waylons strength. I felt so bad for her when Waylon passed away.

Waylon Jennings was one of my favorite classic country singers. He had a very unique country rock style with a lot of southern rock influence. One of my favorite songs from him was Are You Ready for the Country.

How I checked the like button before even starting the video, love Waylon, bada$$ if you ever get the chance, he has a live version out there of Ramblin' Man where he is pretty much geeked out and messes up the lyrics and its still a great performance, another one is with him and Johnny Cash doing There Ain't Good No Chain Gang - good stuff!

Listen to “don’t you think this outlaw bits done got out of hand” one of Waylon’s songs about a true story for being raided by FBI for drugs, while in the studio recording lol. He was told not to release it bc it was a confession but still did🤣 Another one of my favs is “Waymore blues”

When people hear my first name, they think of Waylon. My name is Wayland, the original olde English/Welsh spelling. Grew up on Waylon's music along with the rest of the "outlaw country" singers and bands. Waylon's "Good Hearted Woman" describes my parents perfectly...."good hearted woman in love with a good timin' man." His wife Jessie Colter also had a hit with "I'm Not Lisa" in the mid-70's which I also recommend.

Waylon wrote some great songs man. He was a flat out rebel and gave zero Fxxxs. You either liked him or didnt. Its ageless. He finally ran into a woman who could calm him a bit. From then on he was visably in love. But still put out awesome music

Have you tried THE TRAVELING WILBURYS??? The original group was Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Bob Dylan. Fantastic songs and the harmonies are magic. After Roy died they kept his guitar in a rocking chair. Now George Harrison, Roy, and Tom Petty are gone. A great combination of voices now disbanded.

Waylon was the bass player for Buddy Holly on the tour that Buddy, Richie Valens, and the Big Booper died. Waylon was supposed to be on the plane but traded his seat at the last minute. Plane crashed a short time after take off. Waylon blamed himself for many years because he jokingly told them he hoped their plane crashed. Just a 19? Year old joking the way all teens joke. Haunted him for many years
