Al not only made a career off of parodying major artists they often helped him do it. Michael was a big fan of Al, he even let all use the same sets and Al appeares in Michaels video for "liberian Girl" Mark Knophler of Dire Straits played on Al's parody of Money for Nothing called Beverly Hillbillies. Dave Grol famously said he knew Nirvana made it when Al Parodied them.

Yup, this is Weird Al's thing, spoofing, and parodying other people's music, but he does it so well that most of the time other artist enjoy his work. One of the few times that another artist took exception with his handiwork was Coolio, when Weird Al did "Amish Paridise", a parody of "Gangsta's Paradise", which itself was a reworking of Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise" from Songs in the Key of Life. But Coolio later reversed himself, and said that he really shouldn't have gotten as upset about it as he did. My favorite Weird Al song though, is "Bohemian Polka", an amazing parody of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".
