Jay Z is the best rapper of all time. hes just too advanced for ppl to understand. he doesnt make music for high school kids and most ppl stay with a high school mentality even when they get older.
@ArtisanWindchimes Жыл бұрын
I agree… and he also doesn’t appeal to foreigners because they don’t understand the nuances of his lyrics and think it’s simple. Another thing is they base their opinion on Jay-Z on his music after 2010 when he was already out of his prime… or on his songs with Beyoncé.

Lies. The run that Nas has been on the last 3 years along with what he’s already had has undeniably put himself as the greatest of all time🐐. I always say everybody can have their favorites but objectively Nas is the greatest of all time🐐, without question. Nas catalog is jus too extensive & too great at this point in his career. It’s not a conversation anymore. Nas GOAT🐐

He wasn't throwing shots at Busta, just saying he's different. More of a shot at 50 saying I don't need to get shot. Jay is no. 1, greatest of all time. His catalogue & is his success is unmatched.

Jay used to always catch *a lot* of unnecessary hate. Which makes since because he was regularly putting out bangers from the mid 90s into the 2000s by this point. Kinda like, oversaturation of the market. That kinda turns folks off sometimes. People would constantly say be was "overrated" or whatever, which obviously those people don't know lyricism nor hip hop in general. At the same time, by the time this album came out, his name *was* up there as being one of the "Kings of NY" and all that. So Hov saying he wasnt appreciated was him being dramatic as hell 🤣🤣🤣

That Barrel in Ya Mouth line was borrowed from B.I.G. Jay uses a lot of his lines. With that said, Jay was the best rapper in the world at that time. He was so advanced that he was able to just have fun with it without even being serious. You can tell he's just talking his mess, having fun, but the wordplay and flow is unmatched. Also, regarding that button up line, everyone I knew at that time had $300 throwback jerseys. After people heard this, pretty much all the jerseys went on Ebay. He had the power to create and end trends, which is why he dropped Death of Autotune. He though he had the power to end that too. He's was wrong about that one though.

Glad you enjoyed the song you didn't say Jay was wack but you did say you weren't really a fan if his music. I'm trying to change that😆😆. Please checkout THREAT fire song much different vibe..

The goats of hip hop are the trend setters, Jay is one of em. This song pretty much stopped the jersey era. Biggie put everybody on Coogi and Versace, Lil Wayne made wearing dreads popular in hip hop, Drake made the softer sing-songy rapping OK. Certain people change the game and the others just ride the wave.

Listen to it again, see this generation if you mention another MC you taking shots, but in the 80s 90s Hip Hop we shouted out each other.
