Willie Nelson also sang a beautiful duet with Julio Eglasius (sp?) from 1984 called "To All The Girls I've Loved Before"
@bwilliams46310 ай бұрын
I remember the running joke in those days was that Julio Iglesias would sing a duet with ANYBODY. I think it was our local country music station that ran a spoof ad for an album by Julio Iglesias and the Chipmunks.

My parents split up when I was 12. Never understood why. I always saw love between them. But I was 12, so what did I know about love. They decided to reconcile and decided to go out on dates. My dad took my mom to a Willie concert. When Willie sang this, he told my mom....I always think of you when I hear this. They got back together, and 6 months later, my dad passed suddenly at the age of 40. My mom had this song played at his funeral. She never remarried. She said your dad was the love of my life ❤ I always love hearing this song ❤

This sounds a lot like my parents. They had a lot of problems when I was a kid, but they never split up. My dad bought this record for my mom and it became their song. Things got good again for my family, then my dad died in a work accident when he was 38 years old. My mom never remarried either. She’s 80 now. This song always makes me think of them. It makes me sad that they didn’t get to have more good times together.

@poguemom3 I'm so very sorry for your loss ❤️ Obviously I know EXACTLY how you feel and how you felt watching this reaction 😢 My parents loved each other very much. Now that I'm grown and understand, I can see how the last 6 months of their marriage made them stronger. I feel God had a plan Obviously 🙏 My mother passed 3 years ago. I miss her EVERY SINGLE DAY. But I know she's with the love of her life. He was "Always on her mind" ❤️

Willie Nelson and George Strait are our state treasures. You can't go wrong with Willie. This was written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James. First recorded by Brenda Lee in 1972. Willie recorded it in 1982. Willie was in "Red-Headed Stranger" and it definitely was not a comedy. Check out the song "Red-Headed Stranger". I have socks older than both y'all.

Many thanks for your reaction Asia and BJ. Willie Nelson is a living legend. So many have covered this great song. If you need to have a cover hit you in the feels, then please check out Angelina Jordan's version but bring your tissues. Asia and BJ have reacted to Angelina dozens of times and I highly recommend those reactions. I invite Asia and BJ to react to Angelina's "Old Enough" EP with 6 original songs and her latest new original single "Our Time". Just two days ago, she dropped a 5 song Christmas EP, "Driving Home for Christmas". Angelina remains the greatest, relatively unknown, musical artist and will turn 18 years old on January 10th. Her family has been consistent about Republic Records not promoting her until she is old enough to make all the important decisions for herself. She is the singing voice for the 2026 World Cup.

Asia, if you want to really get into Willie Nelson and know his music, you should listen to the album "Red Headed Stranger" all the way through. It tells a story and is so good. I had heard of him, maybe knew of a song or two and then my boyfriend, now husband, had me listen to that album. From that moment on ... I was a due-hard Willie fan ... I just love him. Try listening to and see if you don't have the same reaction. Thank you for doing this song. God bless you.

This is the most beautiful expression in words and melody of the classic, "you don't realize what you had until it's gone". Yes Asia this is self induced tragedy however, depending on the circumstance ... maybe always on the road (musician, veteran, politician etc.). If it is just plain neglect I agree with you Asia. Great song though !!!

Many people have released this one & the original guy wrote it because, talking to his wife, missing each other, while touring on the road, 'she was always on his mind'. Willie released it on an album of the same name which was #1 country album 1982. It stayed on the Billboard top country album for 253 weeks. My favorites by him is 'Angel flying too close to the ground' & 'Blue eyes crying in the rain. He has a great song with Toby Keith It's fun & the video is like a mini movie. 'Beer for my horses'. Wach it! So fun.

I wonder what “Trigger” Willie’s guitar would go for in an auction $500 dollar guitar from 1969 . That guitar today by regular Joe would typically sell for between $5,000 and $15,000 but considering the signatures of other singers and hits he has put out on that guitar in 55 years

This was probably Willie's best-selling song of all time. There was a time when it filled up the airwaves on country stations, pop stations and blues stations alike. Since you guys brought it up, you ought to check out the Toby Keith, Scott Emrick song, "I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again." They wrote it for Willie and sang it at a concert marking his 70th birthday. I think you'll get a kick out of it.

I think it's cool you guys shared this. Willie was a song writer long before a hippy looking pot head and y'all probably don't realize how many songs he wrote for other artists even before he went on his own singing career. Picture Elvis singing this song, bc he did. The pot is funny, but Willie has contributed so much to music and doesn't get enough credit :)
