This is my all time favorite song of Kim Wilde as soon as I heard it on the radio I fell in love with it .

Michael Jackson loved her and asked her to be support act to his "Bad" tour.Part of this clip was shot while touring with him.

Holy crap. That's a great fun fact!

"loved her".. Lol, keep it real. He ignored her throughout the whole tour, she said so herself and made excuses for him.. As much as I like MJ I found that super rude and not a sign of love. He picked Kim for the tour bc she was the biggest selling female UK act and he liked her cover of the Supremes hit "Keep Me Hangin On", simple.

@@whoever_81yeah but only in Europe...Kim has not played live on this side of the pond in over 40 years...the only time was a few years ago on an 80s cruise... BUT she has a killer new song "Trail Of Destruction" from a new record called "Closer" (a sequel to "Close??) out end of January, 2025!! Perhaps some US dates, please??

@@EllaJayin her video of her cover of Tasmin Archer's "Sleeping Satellite" (2011), photos from throughout her career are shown & there was one of Kim & MJ...I'm getting her bio "Pop Don't Stop" & there is a section where she goes into details on the "Bad" tour, so I'm curious what it says...

Around this time Kim Wilde was the opening act on Michael Jackson's Bad tour in Europe. From the looks of it the live and behind the scenes footage in this video was filmed here in Berlin. And I was actually there in that crowd. ;)

In exactly the same spirit, with fabulous synths, I cannot recommend warmly enough Kim Wilde hits such as NEVER TRUST A STRANGER, CAN'T GET ENOUGH and WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE. You'd lose your pants, out the door and through the window, over these 3 gems, Dereck, you can trust me. Keep up the good work and take care.
@kyachdistent1301Ай бұрын
There's even more to yell about over the real synth-deals-which is the hugely ignored material from much of the 80s from her best stuff: HOUSE OF SALOME is the best song in the world EVER if such a title could ever be taken by only one song: CHILD COME AWAY, VIEW FROM A BRIDGE, LOVE BLONDE, RAGE TO LOVE, THE TOUCH, DANCING IN THE DARK, SAY YOU REALLY WANT ME, TURN IT ON, TAKE ME TONIGHT, EGO, BITTER IS BETTER, STAY AWHILE, SHANGRI-LA, SCHOOLGIRL, HER MISTER HEARTACHE, SAY YOU REALLY WANT ME so on. And what about all the great songs she did-including B-sides that never got made singles so they won't be played here anyway! Really unfair as I notice OTHER acts have their bloody album cuts and B-sides out. Anyway this 'YOU CAME' is inferior cos it's a bloody edit. Play the entire thing though to me the so-called 12" sounds like the proper one and even more value. Always love it when top songs last longer. Kim shortens way too many on albums, then they release them ans shorten them even more! Hateful.

Super catchy song - if you ask me, it's pop perfection - and stunning video! I requested this one, thanks so much for reacting to it Dereck, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for all your work on your awesome channel this past year, it's been a pleasure watching you :) PS - You have a beautiful, endearing smile that always makes me smile back!

Brilliant song from one of her most successful albums. The baby that this was written about called Marty would be Kim's nephew, named after her and Ricky's dad Marty Wilde, who is also a famous singer.

Kim was one of my favourite acts of the 80’s and that was my teenage years and has soooo many special memories too …. Love the fact you’re going through her hits but should do some of the deeper cuts too … this is the official video. Love it and you’re fabulous too .. take care and onwards to 2022 and more reactions too .. can’t wait to see what you’re doing then… happy new year to you too xxxxxx

At last Kim Wilde again, it was worthing it. Yes, "You Came" is one of her 4 unavoidable singles (with "Kids in America", "Cambodia" and "You Keep Me Hangin On") and like "Kids in America" in 94, this song had a second life being the lead single of her album "Never Say Never" in 2006 (joined by "Perfect Girl", "Together We Belong" and "Baby Obey Me"). If you still interested in Kim Wilde's universe dear Dereck, I have a super news for you. She finally released the long awaiting singles collection "Pop Don't Stop : Greatest Hits" on August 6th 2021 and, it's not because I'm a fan that I say it, it REA-LLY worth it. Super Hits, forgotten gems, underrated singles... absolutely everything. The best of her 13 studio albums on only 2 cd !!! The compilation is still not on streaming, you have to get the physical album if you want to listen to it. But I garantee that you will like it. (and it's not so expensive compared to other singles collections released these last years). To conclude, I encourage you to go straight to "Pop don't Stop : Greatest Hits" and, in case you still hesitate, here is a little list of songs I believe you'll like : - "Love Is Holy" - "Rage To Love" (super 60s vibe !!! ) - "Pop Don't Stop" (of course) - "I Can't Say Goodbye" (The strings are pure gold) - "This I Swear" (Yes, a r'n'b ballad but honestly, this song is a diamond) - "Together We Belong" - "It's Alright" (yes it's a cover from East17 but she litteraly ruled on this song) - "Lights Down Low" Happy new year and keep going !!! You're doin' a great job !!!

The boxset is better than the 2CD set...it's 5CD/2DVD...every single from every album, plus B-sides, single-only tracks, remixes...and the 2 DVDs have every vidclip, including 2 then-new ones, one being a duet with Boy George called "Shine On"...47 videos at least, plus 2 bonus features...a fun interview with this cartoon character (half hour long) & a reflection on 5 videos...I love her recent hard rocking stuff from "Here Come the Aliens" as much as her 80s material...I enjoy all her stuff, but her ventures into R&B early 90s doesn't fit her as well as the more rocking & synthpop stuff...
@lawrencedavis44062 ай бұрын
And her new song "Trail of Destruction" is killer synthpop with lyrics that reflect today's political climate...new album "Closer" out end of January, 2025!!

I always thought this was a very cute song. It's incredibly poppy and sounds VERY 1988, but Kim manages to make it memorable. Chequered Love and View From a Bridge are two Kim Wilde hits you really should react to. Chequered Love is particularly great - it has a really frantic pace and the video is super fun. Never Trust A Stranger is also a bit of a stomper,. From the 90s, Love Is Holy is well worth a listen.
