I'm Sarawakian and I do want to clarify something here. In Malaysia, Bangladeshi cuisine IS our soul food. All those cold miserable nights after unpaid overtime in KL; it's our Bangladeshi brothers and sisters that fills our bellies with hot food and the warmth of family. Nearly all the greatest mamak stalls have a touch of Bangladesh in them. For us, Bangladesh food is soul food. :)
@adamuce2 жыл бұрын
This is news to me. Usually Bangladeshi food is underrated. Actually in the UK Bangladeshi food is a sick sweet fusion which doesn’t represent any of these items. But glad Malaysians have embraced it 👍🏼

mamak is not Bangladeshi cuisine, mamak is Indian Muslim. We don't have a lot of Bangladeshi restaurants in Malaysia, but there are a lot of Bangladeshi workers and they are the soul of Malaysia because if not for Bangladeshi workers a lot of buildings in Malaysia would not be made.

My mouth kept watering the whole time while I watched this video! I've been watching Mark's channel for years now but this series will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Mark for showing me such beautiful glimpses of the country where my paternal grandparents were born. They were very young when they came to India with their families during the Partition and never had an opportunity to go back for a visit. I've never been to Bangladesh myself but I've heard so much about it from them. I wish they were still alive so I could show them this video. It was amazing to see the familiar food, the similar eating habits and the best part was being able to understand both languages that were spoken in this video. Many thanks to the hosts as well for giving Mark such a warm welcome..lots of love from an Indian machhe bhaate bangali.. 😀😀
