The steel mosque was supposed to have 6 minarets, however as a cost cutting measure, the minarets were not constructed. You can still see the base of the minarets within the mosque itself, as it was designed to have those tall towers. I still have the original architecture drawings/blueprints of the mosque. 😄

The old name of Putrajaya was Perang Besar or in English literally " Big War". It was once a huge sprawling oil palm estates in state of Selangor. Malaysia is a federation of many states. The agreement to transfer Putrajaya from State of Selangor to Federal Govt of Malaysia was inked in 1999. But the most interesting part was that the agreement was signed by 2 parties with blood ties. The father, then Sultan of Selangor and the King of Malaysia signed on behalf of Federal Govt Meanwhile, the son ,then Regent of Selangor signed to represent Selangor

The two mosques in Putrajaya have nicknames. Masjid Putra is aptly named as the Pink Mosque (due to its colour) and Masjid Tuanku Mizan is also known as the Masjid Besi (Iron/Steel Mosque, perhaps due to its shiny metal appearance).

The best time to walk around on foot in Putrajaya and a Lake in Cyberjaya is between 4:30 pm to 6:45 pm. This is when the heat from the Sun is cool a bit compare to 11:15 am to 4:00 pm. Around 6:45 - 7:00 pm you will be able to witness a good view of sunsets and calm moment. If you want more quiet moment from 7:15 am to 8:30 am - you can walk or cruising around Putrajaya and a Lake in Cyberjaya on Sunday (Weekend) where Private Companies and Government Offices are closed - which mean, less traffic and congestion. Once you complete that - rest a while with good hearty good Malaysia Breakfast at Malay-Indian (Mamak) or Malay Restaurant in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. Enjoy. Stay Safe.
