Sometimes I hesitate to compare Mexico to Europe. Why should Europe be the standard of beauty by which all else is judged? Still... it's impossible not to think for a moment that you are in the south of Spain, or the south of Italy, when you walk the cobblestone streets of a city like Queretaro. But if Queretaro is like Europe, than where is everyone? Why are these magical streets empty, instead of packed with tourists from around the world? Why do cities like Venice and Barcelona have so many tourists that they're bumping into one another, while the shopkeepers in Queretaro still look at me with curiosity and ask, ¿De dónde eres? (Where are you from?) I can't help but feel like we've been tricked. Tricked into thinking that Europe is the standard of beauty, and that it's where we have to visit if we want old world beauty. But Mexico is full of the same sort of beauty. Mixed with its own rich culture, and food, and history. Querétaro, mi linda ciudad. Una de las más limpias. Esa gran muñeca es hecha por manos otomíes, es característica de aquí. Y la iglesia de La Santa Cruz es la iglesia más visitada de Querétaro, la estatua de danzantes es muy representativa de la festividad en septiembre... Vengan a visitar estos días y se maravillaran 13 y 14 de septiembre. Danzas de toda la república bajarán por las calles es un gran espectáculo. Saludos.. hoy los vi y aquí empiezo a seguirlos.

I'm a local and let me tell you something, here in Mexico, Queretaro is a very overrated city everyone wants to live here, Queretaro it's kind of overpopulated now but I want to say that I'm no complaining at all I'm just telling you some facts and you're always welcome in here :)

Julio Sarreón i mean underrated in terms of tourism coming from outside of Mexico, you hardly ever hear of Querétaro as a tourist destination... but yeah your right I’ve heard Querétaro is booming and a lot of people are moving there making the population grow rapidly, I’ve heard this from people in Mexico, I’ve only driven by Querétaro on couple of the many road trips I’ve taken from California to Michoacán and Guanajuato. I never knew it was such on Awesome City until I saw the Kinetic Kennons Querétaro videos and now this video from TheNewTravler. I do wanna visit Querétaro.. I wanna move to Mexico, hopefully in the near future, Mexico is such a magical place where I truly feel free! I was born and raised here in California pero me siento más Mexicano que nada! Yeah, the organizer is a Spanish organization. Querétaro's government spends a lot of money to keep the Downtown nice and clean for tourists LOL but the city is clean overall. It's understandable that CDMX would be harder to keep that clean given the size of the city and the population :)

iPredatur yea when I stayed in Queretaro for a week and I took my time to go to San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo, and Peña de Bernal. Tbh I preferred Peña de Bernal from all of them because of its people and traditional and simple way of life, not as crowded as San Miguel de Allende.

I think what is so great and endearing about this channel is how genuine and real it feels. Querétaro, el estado en donde vivo y soy 100% originario. Por cierto, la estatua del minuto 7:19 es en memoria de la danza conchera Chichimeca del estado, ya que en ese lugar (en esa iglesia) se reúnen muchas danzas de concheros el 13, 14 y 15 de septiembre, los invito a que asistan a esas fiestas tradicionales. The sun in MX is more fierce... I worry about you. Nari too. I care.😍 Keep skin issues and aging to a minimum. Walmarts own brand equate is rated in top 5. SPF 50 or above. I use 70. You Canadians just dont think about sunscreen.😄 Buy A Stick. Please!

Alejandro Alcocer Sáenz Mérida is nice, but not very original. A lot of its colonial flavour was destroyed about a hundred years ago and replaced by a strange, ill-finished style, by the hacendados :( I agree they should visit Yucatán, though.

Latin America (New Mexico to Chile) have little to envy culturally from Europe. Not only do we have their architecture, we also have our own architecture and culture, modified over the centuries by an infusion of Latin European culture and religion. Here you find cities and art as old as anything the ancient Greeks ever made. There are still buildings in Latin America dating to the middle ages and even the classical age still standing. Also, don't forget that it was the constant flow of American silver and crops which laid the foundatios of European wealth and population growth, respectively. It was thanks to Inka and Mesoamerican silver that the "Austrias" (Habsburgs) and Borbones were able to wage its wars and Europe was able to build afford all of that beautiful art of the 16th to 18th centuries. Not only do we have an ancient and great heritage, we are also a huge part of European history yet we are ignored.

C R Nice comment, but New Mexico isn't Latin American, it's in the United States. Maybe you meant Mexico. Also Latin America it's indeed part of European history, thanks to all their gold Europe has a great economy, but is not only Latin America, Also Africa, Pakistan/India, Australia and many other places. For example look at Philippines they have a huge Spanish influence mixed with their own.

My dad is from Puebla, and my mom is from Guanajuato (only a few min away from the city of Queretaro) Love all the places they would take us to visit. So many cities and pueblos have beautiful streets, zocalos, buildings and churches. I think people forget that Mexico incorporated a lot of European culture onto theirs once they were colonized. My dads tiny pueblo is so easy to look over in the hills, but their church is so beautiful, with gold beaten into the architecture. Im so glad you show all parts of Mexico ❤❤❤

Hi, Dan. I suggest you visit San Miguel de Allende, it is a really impressive! the architecture is pretty similar to European. It has a beautiful church based at gothic architecture. The city is near Queretaro if you wanna go you only need to take a "microbus"(Actually I don't remember the route) or bus. There're many foreign tourists and the people that lives there is very friendly. In the other hand it is expensive, but if you find you can get cheaper stuffs. Visit it you won't regret it. By the way, I love your videos. I've learned a lot viewing it 'cause I'm an english student.

As it is forbidden to build big buildings in Downtown Querétaro, the industrial zones and financial zones are in the outsides, for example the new skyline centro sur that is being built close to the bus station

I went to Queretaro about a year ago, stayed there for a week and went to San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo, and Peña de Bernal as well during my visit. Magnificent place to stay and to admire its culture, architecture, and traditions. I really enjoyed the trip and the fun times I had, wish I could go again soon. 😃

It is true that Querétaro is more to the north than CDMX, but it is not considered "northern México", the northern states are Nuevo León, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Sonora, Sinaloa, Durango, Baja California and Baja California Sur

Very good video, guys! I see that you visited Hotel Hidalgo, did you stay there? I used to love it, but now I prefer to stay at La hija del Alfarero. I love to visit Santiago de Querétaro! The heat can get pretty serious though, so I recommend visiting the city between October and March. Oh and nice hat! That's excellent protection against the sunlight.

I'm living Queretaro, you should visit Peña de Bernal, Tequisquiapan, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. I also recommend visiting Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, Tequila, yes! It is a town where they make tequila. Good luck!
