That was a Falcon 9 rocket - one was the 1st stage on its re-entry burn, the other the 2nd stage continuing into orbit. I saw the same thing in Southern California and was mystified, then once I knew what it was, I watched the next one in real life and the live stream at the same time - and sure enough that’s exactly what it was. Very cool!

I had an opportunity to kayak around Lake Itasca in northern Minnesota a few years ago. But, it was extremely windy. I had to abort. I’ll try again. Years ago Mrs. and I often camped. Age and medical issues have cramped our style. You are so fortunate. Enjoy life.

Great winter escape! Reminded me of some of my summertime kayak adventures on Lake Erie. An even better insect blocker than baby oil is ordinary soy oil - yes, the exact stuff you can buy as 'vegetable oil' at the supermarket. There is something specifically about the soy that deters biting. Straight soy oil is too thick and greasy, cut it with 5 to 10 parts coconut oil (I used a Hawaiian Tropic knock-off generic) to one part soy. Or maybe it would work added to baby oil. I would add sunscreen too for an all-in-one protection from UV and bugs - even worked on the vicious biting flies.

Greetings from the other side of this gem Baby oil with a few drops of vinegar works on our migge’s an mozzie, also take incense sticks to burn up wind ( our camping stores have ones with natural repellent, about ft long so burn most of night) Looks nice place to get sand in every nook an crack on ya body 👍🏽👍🏽🤙🏽🖖🏽

That was beautiful! My Mr & I do a lot of kayak camping in Michigan. I asked a local in Belize what they use for bugs and was told baby oil mixed with Deet is what they use. Keeps away 🦟🦟🦟 and sand flies/no see em’s get stuck in oil so they can’t bite.
