I first heard them at age 3 in 1965 lol. My Dad said, " listen to this group". It was so joyous apparently I was dancing around and smiling at the music. The number of people whom have covered and performed their music, including orchestras, is unbelievable! Sir Paul McCartney is the wealthiest singer/songwriter ever. Worth over 1.3 billion!

This is near the end of The Beatles as a group. You need to start from the beginning and see their progression. Their early hits were songs like: I Want To Hold Your Hand, Please Please Me, She Loves You, Can't Buy Me Love, Eight Days A Week, Help and Ticket To Ride. Two of them were wearing their Wives coats because they were outside and it was cold out so that is why they were dressed the way they were.

daletwin John and George were NOT wearing their wives coats. They are THEIR coats. They can be seen wearing those coats when arriving in the studio, in several photos I have seen that were taken on other occasions. Those coats would have been too large for Yoko and Pattie.

@@patticrichton1135 Without me being specific my first comment, two of the Beatles were wearing what looked like women's coats. I didn't think I had to point out which two Beatles' looked a bit odd in their clothing choices, but, now I will be more specific. From an article: JOHN AND RINGO WORE THEIR WIVES COATS! Though it was 45 degrees that day, no one expected the high winds on the rooftop of Apple Corps. “[My] hands [are] too cold to play the chords,” John said between songs. Not the ideal circumstance to play music, John Lennon borrowed Yoko Ono’s fur coat and Ringo Starr also wore Maureen’s red coat.

This is the last time the Beatles performed together. It was a impromptu concert on a rooftop in England. It was not promoted. People heard them and when they figured out what was going on they went to nearby roofs to see. The police showed up and were going to shut it down, but they let it happen. Check out the song "Get Back " from the same performance.

Beatles evolved with the times. They changed the game in the 60s and were always ahead of the rest.

The Beatles don’t have a Rabbit Hole more like a Dinasaur Hole. It’s Vast And Deep and you never really find the bottom. You just find more layers to their greatness. I envy you in your journey, mine began in 1964

Amazing to have someone who has never heard of them. Another great song from them is "Here Comes The Sun" written by George Harrison, another member of The Beatles

This is end of January 1969, at the end of the "Get Back" project where they did the famous rooftop concert as the "live performance" of these songs they had just come up with and then recording them live to make the album. The Beatles did not survive the end of the '60's with John Lennon leaving the band in September '69, but was persuaded by new manager Allen Klein to keep this a secret. So the world (and even the Beatles?) did not know of the breakup until Paul publicly released a statement in April 1970 that he was leaving the Beatles. Then the world knew they had broken up.

Not well shown, but a hero to the Beatles at this time is one young prodigy named Billy Preston. Previously in bands with Little Richard and Ray Charles, Billy turned on the Beatles so much musically John Lennon exclaimed "that's it! Your in the band!". You can only see a couple of quick shots of him playing the electric piano, but those piano riffs really turned on the Beatles creative juices. Billy is often nominated as "the 5th Beatle" because of his work recording with the Beatles both on Get Back/Let it Be and Abbey Road. Only human on planet earth besides Nicky Hopkins to have recorded with both the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, as both musicians played in both bands.

So glad you did the real version 😁. There are so many covers of Beatles songs out there. Now, please note, this is 1969, the end of their 3 week recording sessions. This was made into a 3 part documentary. Released on Disney+ a few months ago by New Zealand guy Peter Jackson. He compiled 53 hours of never seen before footage of the Fab 4 recording at Abbey Studios, London. Also, by 1969 the guys were rocking and experimenting more and more with their sound. Totally the opposite to the music from their early days, where it's more pop music. Some early suggestions, I want to hold your hand She loves you Ticket to Ride I feel fine I also highly suggest you reacting to "A short history of The Beatles". It's a very short summary type video that a KZbinr has put together, but it'll give you much background to the most influential group ever! Thanks

Billy Preston who is the keyboards here, is considered the "5th Beatle." by this time, the beatles couldn't stand each other, and Billy was the guy that kept them going just a little longer and added a breathe of fresh air to the band. Unfortunately we lost Billy in 2006.

They only released music for about 7 years before they split up and are still the best sellers 🤯 So, you’ve never heard of Paul McCartney??

I never heard of a person who never even heard mention of the Beatles...my mind is blown. They are so massive there was an entire Hollywood movie based around the premise "what if the Beatles never existed." My personal opinion is that the most underrated Beatles song is "golden slumbers". Beautiful track, and as much as I love "the long and winding road" I think it should be the track played in the Sheeran battle in the previoysly mentiined movie.

Paul McCartney and George Harrison also wrote beautiful love songs. John, Paul and George wrote all types of songs as you will hopefully see if you start a Beatles and solo journey. But as others have said here, you really need to START AT THE BEGINNING of their recording career starting with the "Please Please Me" album and work your way chronologically as each record/album was released, as we heard them back then. It is the ONLY way you can truly see how they progressed and evolved in their music. Don't Let Me Down is from their last year as a group. Too many reactors seem to want to work backwards, which makes no sense, especially with a group like the Beatles who were constantly changing with each record and album.

@@gailemory3625 Bad news. Most of the currently 8,000,000,000 or so people of the planet probably don't know the Beatles, because they may not be interested in music (which is unfortunate), have completely different problems or, for whatever reason, it didn't happen. As far as I know, understandably, people in Africa didn't grow up with Western European pop-rock music. And many countries are Islamic... The Beatles, I think, are best known in South Africa. McCartney's most intensive contact with Africa was certainly the production of "Band on the Run" in Nigeria, 1973, also with a dubious contact with the legendary Fela Kuti, a great musician, but a man, who despised women in a terrible way. Also in my village in Hessen, Germany, there are people, who have never heard of the Beatles. But of course, every person, who is interested in music, will sooner or later not be able, to ignore the Beatles...
