Elvis understood human suffering and I think that was what made him really different. One of my favorite Elvis stories is Christmas Eve, he would go down to the local jail to talk to inmates and find out if their families/kids needed anything. His dad had been in jail when he was little so he understood what it was like for the kids to be without their dads and the stigma that came with it.

Excellent commentary. The man was something else. It doesn't matter how he died. He can rest knowing he was kind and generous and lived life on his terms. He didn't have to tear down others to elevate himself. He stole from no one, downgraded no one.He was a unique individual on so many levels. Visually and vocally he was stunning and that came from what he was on the inside. Vicki

agree. from what I understand, Elvis always tried to uplift other entertainers, refused to talk badly about their craft, artistry. He seemed to always be so generous to all whom wanted to meet him (Elvis over anyone else), i.e. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the list was endless...seems anyone and everyone just wanted to 'meet elvis' and he'd oblige...inviting them to his home, on his plane...how weird it must have been for him. Funny story about Bruce Springstein clamouring to meet Elvis, nearly breaking into his house.

You made me laugh and cry with this one. He was amazing, he was one-of-a-kind and you're right, the mold was broke when he came into the world. Compassionate, extraordinarily talented, giving not only of himself, but every thing that he had to his fans and to those that he loved. He loved to have a good time on stage and had a great sense of humor. The emotion and energy that he put into every performance was unparalleled.

You crack me up with that line “Relax!! You just got all of Vegas pregnant” Elvis the pelvis was a generous good human! His greatest joy was giving. I live in Memphis and I remember back in the 70’s when random people would be on the news saying that Elvis just bought them a car. What a shame that the money hustler’s worked him to death. So genuine this guy

Btw, Ronnie Tutt is his good friend and drummer and you are exactly right, they were egging each other on in a big feedback loop. Ronnie had the ability to just go nuts and drive Elvis crazy but then Elvis would always try to take the upper hand and push him even harder. And he did this with other members of the band as well. But that is definitely a really amazing moment.

Fwiw man I'm seeing it right now. Yeah this is an iconic performance. But I love how much you appreciated him messing around with his band, and he messes around with the audience sometimes just like that. But you have to understand there is a context here. He was tight with everybody in his band, including his backup singers. And that particular woman? She sometimes went out of her way to prank him in practice. And they got into a habit of they would try to startle each other. So the fact that he did it on stage and you can see her laughing her ass off and blushing even before it happens and then definitely afterwards, and then he could barely keep from bursting out laughing, that tells you everything you need to know. I'm so glad you picked up on it. A lot of reactors either do not or barely do or they misinterprete it or something. You're right on top of that man.

Ray, I love You!! Your reaction gave me goosebumps, it made me laugh out loud several times, and it made me cry... Everything you said is so, so true. 🙏 Whenever I see that you uploaded a new Elvis reaction, my day is saved! Bless you, my friend :))) If Elvis still walked this earth, he would influence many people to exchange hate for doing good. During his lifetime, many people admired his warmth and friendliness toward others. He was respectful to everyone. I am positive that many of his fans have become better human beings because of him, because of reading about the good things he had done for others. That`s what many people don`t understand about Elvis fans. It`s never been just about his music, his good looks, and the outrage he caused when he first started. Elvis was so much more. I may sound like a weirdo, but being an Elvis fan is almost like being a member of a religion. A religion that has been developing for decades. His journey of stardom lasted for 23 yrs and he invited us to go with him. A journey that has never been dull, and on which you never knew what to expect next. During his career, he invented a new image of himself - at least five times. He did so many things nobody had done before. Those who laugh at him don`t know that he influenced even the music they listen to. Because he grew up in a black community, his mind was half white, half black. He loved the colors black people wore and he liked the polished look of black men who looked smart and cool. Many people of poor origin make an effort to look smart and better situated than they actually are. Well-situated and rich people don`t need to bother. Everyone looks up to them, even if they`re in their jeans or jogging suit. That`s why Elvis loved Cadillacs and gold jewelry. Those expensive things, he had always dreamed about, reminded him of the fact that people had no reason anymore to look down on him. For Elvis more was more. BUT, he had great taste and wore everything with style. With his unique style in clothing, hairdo, and music, he changed a whole generation and freed sexually and psychologically imprisoned young people who had been raised after the Great Depression, after WWI, and WWII. In that era, the conservative and traumatized adults had no concept of what the young post-war generation was about and wished for. The parents had too many problems of their own, and had no idea how to deal with the younger generations. Most of the time the teenagers` needs had been overlooked, misunderstood, or simply ignored. But then Elvis came along and everything changed. People didn`t know what hit them. Finally, a role model for young people was born. Someone who gave them what they didn`t even know they needed. And it didn't take too long before the whole Western world was hooked on this simple and previously poor and churchgoing young man, who meant no harm, was crazy about music, and deeply believed in God. He was shy like an Angel and daring as the devil, all at the same time. He sang Gospels and looked sexy. A very controversial character indeed. In the late 60s and early 70s, he wasn`t that different. Yes, at that time, he was rich and a star but deeply burdened with his obligation to entertain people to the max. To do the best he could to make people accept and love him as they had done 20 yrs ago when he first appeared on the scene, and to spread a message of hope in a very disturbing time. Hope was something he was losing himself, and nobody was able to provide it, although many have tried. I believe his daughter Lisa Marie and his fans were the nearest to hope that he could reach, that`s why he respected and loved his fans like no other celebrity. And we loved him back like nobody else`s fans. I apologize for this long comment that is filled with far more grammar mistakes than I would wish. I am well aware that such long texts aren`t liked on YT, and hardly anybody bothers to read them. I just felt the urge to make a contribution to this wonderful and loving reaction to Elvis` performance, a man that I`ve loved and adored for more than 40 years. THANK YOU, Ray❤

@@lechat8533 Yes, of course! I read all your comments because I know that you put love and care into what you're saying. Not only do you comment on the reaction, you offer information to those that may not be familiar with Elvis and his life story. I grew up on E, my parents loved him. My father was a Chgo police officer and he worked the Stadium concerts. We were blessed to see E a few times. He was my first concert at 4yr in 1971 (I do rembr it) and then again in Oct '75 and May (?) '76. I got to go alone with dad and although to the side behind the band, we had very close seats. At some point I screamed his name and he actually turned around and spoke. When it was time for scarves, i just couldnt reach far enough and a girl in front of me got 2 of them 😩. Clearly, one was meant for me 🤨😆. Dad offered her dad $50 for one but he declined. But I got to go back to the dressing room. Of course E wasn't there but his presence lingered and it was a night I'll never forget. His concern for his fans and how we perceived him, his non stop blinding schredule along with disregard for his many health conditions, and other factors took him from us way too early. I rembr exactly where i was when we heard the news and it was heartbreaking. I was the only one in my school class that loved him and i didn't care who knew. We made a trip to Graceland the following summer. I have a very diverse musical taste and have had times away from E's music, but I always come back to him. He would be so hurt to know what some have said of him regarding racism etc. His primary concern was always for others and I think it would just kill him if he thought he caused anyone pain. One way or another though, the Truth is always revealed, and I'd like to think that the current revival of E and his music would lift a heavy burden from his heart... He set the world on fire and he is still loved. He was and is enough and always will be. ❤️‍🔥👑🕺

I watch a LOT of people listening to Elvis for the first time because I truly enjoy their reactions to what I've been experiencing since 1966 when I became an Elvis fan. I'm 62 now and love his sound just as much today as I did back then. I don't usually leave a comment, but this time I am compelled to because of one fact. YOU GET ELVIS ! You understand what so many reviewers don't. Elvis was raised in the poorest parts of town. He got his musical influence from black artists and gospel singers (his vocal backup was made up of two gospel groups; the Sweet Inspirations [the girls] and the Stamps Quartet [the guys] and J.D. Sumner is that booming bass you hear). Your reaction video is one of the best, if not THE best I've come across. Let me say it again: YOU GET ELVIS ! Thank you. Thank you very much.

I laughed so hard with the reaction from this D.J. He does such a wonderful job expressing his comments on Elvis. I do know when Elvis played the Houston Dome in the 70's, he was told he "could leave his girls a home." ELVIS STATED, IF HIS GIRLS COULDN'T COME, HE WOULDN'T BE THERE. HE SAID TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. THEY TOOK IT AND WHEN ELVIS ARRIVED FOR THE STAGE, HE BROUGHT ALL HIS GIRLS OUT IN A RED JEEP WITH HIM - NO TOP ON THE JEEP RIDING ALL AROUND THE DORM WAVING TO THE CROWDS. THIS WAS STATED BY MYRNA OF THE SWEET INSPIRATIONS.

How we met was kind of a complicated story but i will not explain because people judged and commented nasty hurtful things that hurt me deeply. So i will not post anything about our friendship ever again, We had a short conversation a few days before his death we were both very emotional. i will love and miss my friend forever. i walk past Graceland everyday sometimes i go in and walk around the grounds and talk to my friend at his final resting place. they know me there lol they are just like hey girl.. love to you from the one and only Memphis Tn. That's exactly how Elvis was. He was the biggest and had a lot of influence, but he considered himself rich or poor like other people. That can also be seen in every show. he always steps back to give someone a moment. Like you said, in this day and age we need someone as big a heart as Elvis had. You worded it nicely.

His backup singers were The Sweet Inspirations, and one of them was Cissy Houston, mother of Whitney Houston.

FACT CHECK, WHAT YOUR WATCHING IS ONE OF HIS TWO HOUR SHOWS AND HE WOULD DO ANOTHER ONE AT NIGHT. HE WOULD DO FIFTY ONE SHOWS IN ONE MONTH. AND ALSO WENT OUT ON THE ROAD WHEN THEY TOOK A LITTLE BREAK AND DO CONCERTS. HE BROKE THE RECORD DOING EIGHTEEN HUNDRED CONCERTS IN CERTAIN TIME FRAME. MY MOM SÈEN HIM IN BOSTON. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE YOU BRING TO US. THE MESSAGES YOU GIVE ARE VERY WELL RECIEVED. 💫

"Elvis is black!" you screamed, and I laughed so hard!! The thing that his critics don't understand is that "black music" was, to Elvis, just music and came to him naturally because of all his early exposure to blues and gospel. I think you're right and that, at least in spirit, he WAS black!! Thank God!!

The drummer had to keep his eyes on Elvis at all times. His drumming kept up with Elvis, not Elvis keeping up with the drums.

I have to say one of the best reactions I have seen. You made me laugh, but everything you say about this amazing man is so true. We need more like him one of kind. Our Lord definitely broke the mould when he made Elvis.

I will forever believe many of Elvis's traits are because of an untreated Adhd. Even his self medication with amphetamines. His leg shaking and inability to stand still. It's all Adhd. He was amazing in his ability to channel it into something that speaks to the soul and can bring grown people to tears and bring a smile to their face no matter who you are.

He could not stand still, he had the music in his soul. Im sure you read that they eanted to put him in jail fir his pelvic thrusts...we loved them. Just a bunch of jealous politicians.
