The Instrument which is played by "Hauptmann" (the Man with the Knight-costume) is called Thunderharp. Its an own creation from Feuerschwanz and is a Helbard with Bass-Strings.

thanks, couldn't tell just from the video! I immediately have this image of a craftsman / smith (possibly a collaboration work?) who's thrilled to bits at having such an original project.

"Ultima Nocte?!... sorry I don't speak German" I'm dying here :)) Feuerschwanz started out as a straight up medival folk parody band, became a comedic medival folk rock band and went a bit more serious and more metal over the last few years. Their earlier material is full of insinuations and suggestive lyrics which they continue to this day with their ambiguous stage names. Their original material is usually in German but they've recorded some cover songs in English too. Can't wait to see you react to Untot im Drachenboot (Undead in the Dragon Boat), I mean ... Zombie Vikings, do I have to say more? Das Elfte Gebot & Memento Mori are more on the epic side, just as their recent cover of Manowar's Warriors of the World United, featuring Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum), Thomas Winkler (aka Angus McFife, ex-Gloryhammer) and Saltatio Mortis (represented by vocalist Alea der Bescheidene).

Yep, that one had me in stitches too. Still, the pronunciation worked well, and AFAIK Latin and German are pronounced pretty much the same. well, as far as anybody can know until somebody gets round to necromance a couple of roman soldiers ;)

I can also recommend this brand new collaboration’s first single wich are a bittersweet new interpretation of Florence & The Machine's Game Of Thrones soundtrack "Jenny Of Oldstones"! Multi talent and vocalist Melissa Bonny breathes a new soul into the song, between sweet clean singing and heavy growls, while the harp adds a completely new element to it. Ad Infinitum singer Melissa Bonny, Feuerschwanz guitarist Hans Platz, his bandmate harpist Jenny Diehl and Amaranthe drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen form The Dark Side of the Moon! This is another instant playlist. And for another Feuerschwanz, Untot im drachenboot are awsome. 👍😀

Thanks for this Reaction . I'm a Fan from the beginning of Feuerschwanz in 2005 . The change of this Band from a Medival Comedy Rock Band to now Medival Folk Rock Metal Band is phantastic . When you like these Genre , then you like the new Song from Saltatio Mortis feat. Lara Loft "The Dragonborn comes" . Its a Song from the Game "The Elderscores - Skyrim" . This Song and the Video are so epic . Greetings from Germany .

According to a comment made by the band's guitarist on another reaction video, they call the Halberd with the guitar strings a "Thunder Harp"

A Cover from Feuerschwanz you should react to is Warriors of the World. It's a collaboration from 4 different Bands. Feuerschwanz, Saltatio Mortis, Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum und Angus MC Five from Gloryhammer! 👍🏻 Keep on the great Work on your reaction Videos! I really enjoy them! 😎

You really need to check out more Feuerschwanz, their new album is my favourite album of 2021.. not a single dud song on the album.. "Memento Mori" and their cover of "Warriors of the world united" is simply sublime! Other outstanding tracks: Ding, Meister Der Minne, Das Elfde Gebot, I see Fire, Metfest, Malleus Maleficarum, Hier kommt Alex, Schubsetanz (original & Black metal version), Untot im Drachenboot & Die Hörner hoch.

3:45 - given that these guys hang out in the reenactment scene, I'd say it's entirely possible that the dragged his bass and an axe to a working smith and went "these two, cross-breed them". + (Plate armor = around 1500, Feuerschwanz = anachronism stew ;) )

Absolutely love this band. Good musically and vocally. The kind of metal I can enjoy. Not just loud noise and some dude screaming. Just the opinion of an old broad who loves all kinds of music. Also, enjoy your channel. HNY to you and your family.

If you liked this one you gonna love them. Enjoy the ride! They have so many good songs I don't even know where to start. For a more serious tone try "Das Elfte Gebot" (meaning the eleventh commandment) which tells you to enjoy every day as if it is your last. "Im Bauch des Wals" (in the whales stomach) is a great ballad about how we poison the ocean with trash that the animals eat and die from... way too underrated in my opinion. Some fun ones are "Kampfzwerg" (battle dwarf), "Metfest" (mead festival) and "Schubsetanz" (pushing/shoving dance) they have two versions of this one, the original and a black metal cover which I think started out as a joke at a live show but their fans liked it so much that they made a full version of it (that's also pretty much their band history in a nutshell). They have a lot of covers too like Powerwolf's Amen and Attack, Sabaton's Gott mit uns, Rammstein's Engel and many more... but I'm sure everyone will suggest the Manowar cover first for obvious reasons!

They released Memento Mori album on new years eve, with Ultima Nocte(meaning "last night") video coming out the same day - last night of the year. And released "Krampus"(a devil-like character from germanic world who takes naughty children, kinda an anti-santa) on christmas eve... gotta love the timing on those two releases. And of course.... please do react to "Warriors of the world united" cover from them - Avengers of german-swiss metal assembled for that.
@Julia-lk8jn2 жыл бұрын
Oh, I love Krampus. When you look at one of those old christmas cards, the archetypes just jump out on you, it's like the Good Lord and his antagonist going door-to-door around Midwinter night.

"Ultima Nocte" is latin, not german. It means "last night".

The last night before the batte in this case. That's what the lyrics are all about, it's basically a battle song.
