If you remember the original video of Cranberries, the woman in gold represent Dolores, and the glass wall is in my opinion the separation between life and death. You can notice at 7:07 of your video that she is writing "1-15-18" in the paint, which is the day she passed away. For me this one is not just a cover, it has become more an hommage to Dolores. I love the original till day one and I love this one too. If you're interested in good cover which can give you a different interpretation of a world known song, I would suggest "Seether - Careless Whisper" (cover from George Michael's song of course)

Tommy V changed the lyrics to reflect how much war is still the same but advanced now with drones and is still being fought in 2018. Which kinda helps in a way. Can you do a reaction to Disturbed’s Sound of Silence? I know you have done it before, but watch the video where the band performed it on Conan for the first time. A lot of info about it makes the performance unforgettable.

It seems to me that, while Delores' version was focused on the tragedy of the political situation, this version is much more personal and focused on the tragedy of Delores' death.

I dont think it is a patch on the original because of Delores voice and the cranberries were living it. It was a nice tribute though!.

If I had never heard the Cranberries version before I would be a bit more impressed? Same song with a guys voice. The original lyrics were about the "troubles" in Ireland etc. I believe it was in response to a pub bombing, (possibly in England)? I stand to be corrected on that. So, to be sure, the Cranberries meant what they said and meant it to be heard. If you haven't lived it how can it mean more to the covering artist?

Yet Dolores loved this version and was set to sing it with them. Kind of tells you something doesn't it. Bad Wolves brought the song forward to our time to keep it relevant as we still have many of the same issues today.
