Great song! Bryan Adams is a Canadian singer songwriter from the 80's-90's. He is known for his ballads & he has a unique raspy voice. Bryan has had so many hits such as "Cuts Like A Knife", "Straight From The Heart", "Heaven", "Everything I Do", "Run To You", "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?", "Can't Stop This Thing We Started", "Thought I'd Died & Gone To Heaven", "Please Forgive Me", "All For Love" etc. He has won a lot of awards for his music.

If you get a chance, check out the Bryan Adams unplugged album. He went around to small, old theaters doing an unplugged show of his biggest hit and we saw him in Frederick MD and the acoustics were so good, most of that performance made the album. One of the best concerts I ever saw.

Back in the day, the only way bands could practice was to find a garage or basement. No computers. Play same song over and over til it was perfect. Tape recorders were all they could use.

Ummm according to Bryan Adams, the song is not about the summer or the year 1969. It’s about the position 69. 🙄
@TaraWontTapOut4 ай бұрын
@@Mainecoonlady. I think we can all do the math that he was only 10yo in ‘69. Why does it matter how people interpret their view of musical art? Stairway to Heaven by Zep and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen could be many things to people now. This song has become so much bigger than just sex so I don’t know why that matters?
@rodthebodfromcanada4 ай бұрын
I've also read in other articles that it was originally Sunmer or 79 (when Adams would have been 19), but it didn't roll of the tongue as well. Plus, the cowriter Jim Vallance was 10 years older, so for 1969 would have been the right year. I'm sure there's a mixture of fact and fiction, as well as some revisionist history.

Wow…. Zoom right over the head. It’s not about summer or the year 1969. It’s about the position, according to Mr. Adams.
@TaraWontTapOut4 ай бұрын
Bryan Adams didn’t solely write this song. Jim Vallance is the cowriter of a lot of his songs and he says that they were just talking about the fun of a teenager in the summer when they wrote this. But even if started as something sexual, it’s grown to something much bigger. Does it matter how people interpret it?
@christielysdale18154 ай бұрын
