Chris Martin (singing in Spanish here) and Coldplay in general were huge fans of Soda Stereo, an argentinian trio whose frontman, composer, singer and specracular guirarist died in 2014 after 4 years in coma (had a stroke, he was young, less than 50). In fact for this song and aniother one Chris invited and arrange to be backed by the drummer and the bass player of SS. So here you are acually hearing the bass and drumming of Soda Stereo. Do yourself a favour, and do not miss the (Gira=Tour) "Me verás volver" (You'll see me coming back, 2007). I guarantee you'lll be amazed and love Soda Stereo. "De musica ligera" literally translated means "from light music". Gustavo Cerati told in an interview that his dad used to listen to a record called "melodias de musica ligera" = MELODIES OF LIGHT MUSIC. Cerati told that he used to be spending time with his girlfriend in the living room while his dad was playing the record Melodias de Musica Ligera. And thus, that record is associated in his memory with that girlfriend at the time. "De aquel amor de musica ligera, nada nos libra, nada mas queda..."= From that love of Musica Ligera, nothing release us, nothing is left. In other words: from that love of light melodies sounds, nothing tears us apart, but nothing is left to continue the relationship. In other words: a broken relationship for ever, which nevertheless lives on in their memories.
