David Bowie opened his set at the memorial concerts following the 9/11 attacks on New York with a short a cappella rendition of the Simon and Garfunkel classic "America". Then he kicked into "Heroes" and the crowd full of firefighters and police officers went nuts.

One of the all time great artists and one of the all time great songs. Bowie had hits in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and continued putting out vital music (and not becoming a nostalgia machine like so many peers) right up until his death in 2016.

There is a niche, talent, and frankly, a Demand for "Nostalgia Machine" artists. Only a few can do it well and keep a living. Billy Joel and the Beach Boys are a couple that come to mind. But indeed, Staying Relevant, Modern, and Contemporary seems to involve a different set of skills. And you're right, Bowie had that skill down VERY WELL!

I agree, Russia should withdraw from the Ukraine immediately

@@ardentdesir5796 First of all, I am not Russian, I am Russian-speaking. Secondly, no one will withdraw troops from anywhere because you write this comment on the Internet. if you support Ukraine so much, then donate money to their army, or go and defend it with weapons. An Internet defender has been found.

@@comeupdedalus_ I think it's inmportant that we, the free people, condemn the hateful actions of the Russians - as you should have done, but didn't. Which is sad.

@@ardentdesir5796 I have already said above that I am not Russian. but I did it again. As for your words, not everything is so clear. Putin started this war. No one can resist him. The Russian people are in fear for their freedom and for their lives. A real repressive machine has been built in Russia, which is aimed at breaking people who do not adhere to a pro-government position. It's easy for you to blame the Russians while sitting in a more or less free London or somewhere else. but you live in a completely different reality. if you are in the Shire, then the Russian people are oppressed in Mordor
