This was at the Bastau concert in June 2017 in Astana, the capital of Dimash's homeland Kazakhstan, not in China. STRANGER, AVE MARIA, OLYMPICO are not from the Chinese show (I Am) Singer. Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize your so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. There are better performances of this song although I love this concert and this song. Dimash wrote this song when he was 19 years old and the lyrics were written by Oral Baissengir, of course in Kazakh. He performed this song on his first solo concert in Kazakhstan called Bastau in 2017. It was after he finished The Singer competition. He worked so hard for this terrific concert. I was scared at first when I saw him. He was so terribly thin. The Singer was the competition that took him from a Kazakh singer to a megastar in China overnight. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time. Please either react to SOS from The Singer in 2017 next, or if you want to see something newer then I recommend Stranger. But I can only recommend the performances of the Singer Show if you want to see his development from 2017 to today. Dimash was only 23 at this concert in his home country Kazakhstan, after appearing in a Chinese tv show for professional singers (where he had overnight success). The Bastau (which means 'beginning') concert is wonderful, but it was nearly 6 years ago now, and in the meantime, Dimash's voice and confidence has improved immeasurably - unbelievable though it may seem! All the other suggestions in the comments for further videos are great - but for something different, I would also recommend 'Screaming', live from the Idol Hits Chinese tv show; it's in English and shows another side to him (Dimash is incredibly versatile, as you'll see!): kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3PKpph9mcybask P.S. This isn't the performance he hit the D8 in, that was at Gakku festival. Dimash sings everything from Opera to Rap and only ever does what the song asks for. He is the most incredible voice in the world today, both classically and pop trained with a 7.2 octave range and 20+ years of musical education to back it up. Believe me you haven't even seen 5% of what he is capable of. He wrote this song himself and although he works with many composers his own songs are exceptional.

@@TrevandErin my recommendation would be that you listen to Stranger from the 2021 New Wave. That will show you a bit better what he's capable of and is in English. The D8 is a whistle note which even Mariah Carey or Ariana Grande haven't been able to produce in a live performance.

Thats not his range dont exaggerate mate. He has never sang down in the first octave! His lowest stuff- that isnt really singing - is down in the upper 2nd octave which would make his range about 6 - if we are counting the d8. Its not like the d8 or 7th octave notes he's done are 'sang' in a usable sense as part of a lyric- they are stand alone notes. His range might tecnically be 6 octaves, but what he can really normally use in 'singing' is more like 4.5 octaves. Im ok with people saying its a 6 octave range since its not totally untrue- but 7.2 is a massive exageration. He is impressive enough without exagerating!

In fact, while there are many renditions of SOS prior to his performance on 2017 "I Am Singer," most of which are during various international or regional completions, most of which he won but, after 2017 he also sang it as a guest singer on a stage he's very comfortable on & that he has won upon also called Slavic Bazaar. That rendition in 2018 is just simply incredible but then so is 2021 SOS Digital Show during the pandemic & more recently, SOS EMI GALA in Dubai, where he traveled in the company of both of his grandmothers & visited Mecca together; he strolled them down the red carpet walking between them, a granny on each arm on his way to accept an international award for being a unique individual in every way: talent, fashion, himself a very handsome model on occasion with an admirable sincere humility about him thus, none were surprised when he called to his paternal grandmother to join him on the stage, gifting her his award after telling the audience about her unconditional love & support as she & his grandfather raised DQ, and from 5 years old on she took him to Music School daily and stood for 3 hour sessions (I believe he said) as they had no seats outside the classroom where she literally stood in waiting for him in the hallway. DQ has an incredible amount of respect for his elders. I can find no fault in this young man though he's human so clearly he's actually not perfect just almost perfect from where I'm sitting. He was a child prodigy that has worked very hard to perfect his artistry & is considered to be a virtuoso. I haven't found anyone who can disagree with any legitimacy but believe it or not the man has haters. You'll see the trolls as they slither from beneath their slimy, putrid rocks & watch the vitriol spill out of their foul mouths, dripping off of their forked tongues to espouse lies, rumors & gossip about one of the most kind persons to walk the planet. Sry! I sometimes get carried away between the artistry of DQ & my own: novelist or at the very least Essayist??? Teeheehee! Grannies on both arms on the red carpet! Seriously! 🆘👼🇰🇿👑🌏✌️🌎🕊️🌍☮️! ❤

My preference is the 2021 version from Dimash’s digital concert, but others lean towards the 2017 Singer version from China as it was the version that catapulted Dimash to fame in China. The maturity of his voice is notable in the 2021 version and you can better hear the underlying depth of his vocals besides the upper register. Also, the subtitles are easier to access for those who don’t speak French. Take care!

This wasn't even close to what he can do with that voice and this was years ago. He is from Kazakhstan and this was in Kazakh but he sings in up to 15 languages while being fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian. That being said he is becoming fluent in English also with a little Mandarin thrown in for good measure. We have hundreds of Dimash songs. I am going to suggest Stranger and his latest MV, The Story of One Sky. Both in English and both will show not only amazing range but in the MV, you will see one heck of a message. He composed the music, wrote the script, acted and sang all of the parts although it seems like there are many people. It is about war and it is a little intense at times but well worth it. He does pretty much any genre he wants from ballads, to opera to rap and plays multiple instruments as well. Buckle up because he is going to shock you.

When Dimash goes in he is simply unmatched, both in vocals and performance. The "BIG 2" are SOS and Sinful Passion. Sinful Pasion blows my mind every time I hear it, and I spit out my water onto my screen the 1st time I saw it. Highly recommended watching!!

Wrong version of the song , he didn't sing D8 here at his 2017 solo concert Bastau. He sang it at the Gakku Festival in 2017 where he was headlining. This is one of his easy songs so a strange choice as a first listen to him. Yes Dimash wrote this beautiful song 🎵

Thanks for discovering Dimash. Unfortunately you picked the wrong version. He does the D8 at Gakku concert. Still, this is not even the tip of the iceberg of what Dimash is capable of doing. I suggest the 2017 The Singer version or the Slavicc bazzar version of his most famous song SOS, followed by the "no glitch" version of Sinful Passion, then Adagio, The Show Must Go on, Hello, and the absolutely mindblowing STRANGER, to me, his masterpiece. The greatest artist ever for me. Not because of notes, but because of the emotions that he can express using his amazing voice as a tool. There is no such thing as the wrong version of this song, they are all great. Personally, I don't share the preoccupation with the D8. Yes, it's impressive, but notes are not the most important thing. But if I have to pick the one I listen to the most, it's the 2021 version and the versions in Prague and Kiev with the endearing endings. The performance on Singer 2017 is also among my very favorites. SOS 2021 is a must, but I recommend also the one from Singer 2017. They are both amazing.

You got the wrong video. It is unforgettable day live at gakku for the massive D8, plz react to that one as it’s very different. He wrote this song when he was a teen. Have you heard of the alien song from fifth element? It was written deliberately so no human could ever sing it live, well Dimash does it with ease. Diva dance live at bastau is my personal favourite. You actually haven’t seen anything yet. I would also highly recommend stranger and ave Maria from new wave 2021, just to get a little insight into his actual capabilities, some anyway
