Just a little something to add to the story, Randy Meissner suffered such stage fright that he had to be talked into singing this song almost every night. Randy eventually left the band because of the physical and mental toll it took on him. Timothy B. Schmitt replaced Randy and he sings this song now. He also sings his song, 'I Can't Tell You Why'.

Randy had trouble reaching that high note. I think the vocalizing was to raise his pitch, and finally did it when he felt ready. I like his little smile, and Glenn Frey's smile. I think one was relief and the other was "you nailed it!"

That is one of only two songs that I know of that Randy Meisner sang lead on. The other was another great song called Try and Love Again. He passed away not too long ago. RIP Randy.
