Thank you very much for reacting to my favorite band! They are from Germany and this is the title track from the “Keeper of the seven keys” pt2 from 1988. There’s also pt1 from the previous year 1987. The lead singer back then was Michael Kiske and he was only 19 when he recorded this song with them. He was fired in 1993 for musical differences with the rest of them. The guy that replaced him - Andi Deris, has a different voice but equally as amazing. Lots of lineup changes throughout the years but the music has always been great. Helloween, Blind Guardian and Sabaton in most recent years are the edge of the European metal scene If you enjoy this track you should also try “Halloween”, “Eagle fly Free”, “ March of Time” as a start. I saw Helloween live in 2018 in Chicago with their original lineup minus the drummer Ingo who passed away in 1995.. I was right up against the stage. They played for almost 3 hours. Was absolutely incredible.

I think a lot of people when they hear this song that the melodies that are being played by the guitars are a bit random but I tell you, if I heard this song in a concert, I would pick out any note that was not correct, I know every note of those solos by heart. Legendary, very good word for that epic song.

Michael Kiske is a a great vocalist. He was back then and to this day he is still as good if not better. But Is he my favorite singer for this kind of music? No, he is not. I can appreciate him very much and dig these songs. But the other singers from this band was just a bit more interesting. Namely Kai Hansen and Andi Deris. Not all about high notes there. Specifically Andi Deris is so unique in his singing. He can hit high notes (not as good as Kiske) but he can also sound really evil and raw. Kai has such a diversed voice. Listen to his different bands. His song from Helloween called Ride The Sky is almost purely heavy thrash metal. I love this band and every lineup of this band. They are the most important band when it comes to German metal. For a great example on how fucking amazing Andi Deris is, do a reaction to "Are You Metal" by Helloween. Really heavy and raw music

If you liked this, you should probably check out "Halloween" from this Band, Beware, there is a short "MTV Edit Version" from back in the day, when the still had music videos on MTV. But that clip is crap, better take this one... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqWzpGSHp7J8Z6s. The musical mastermind behind these songs is a german guy, Kai Hansen. He wrote these songs back in the 80s, the two LP "Keeper of the 7 Keys part 1 + 2" are considered to be among the most influencal records in heavy metal music history. The band went through a couple of ups and downs, Michael Kiske quitting being a musician and Kay Hansen forming his own band "Gamma Ray" which is awesome as well. Halloween reunited a couple of months ago with former members as Pumpkins united. So you should definetly check out that they ar still magnificent
