This song is such a vibe. Dance of Death is one of my favourite Iron Maiden songs, and one of my favourite albums. It was the first new album of theirs when I started listening to them so it holds a special place in my heart. Another great song from this album (and this live concert) is Paschendale. It's an epic track about the World War I battle. It's worth checking out! My most played Iron Maiden song would have to be The Phantom of the Opera, off of their debut album Iron Maiden. They play insanely fast for it and the guitar harmonies always gives me goosebumps

The most addictive Maiden songs: - Infinite Dreams - The Duellists - Flash of the Blade - Fear of the Dark - Caught Somewhere in Time - Deja Vu - Phantom of the Opera - Powerslave - Rime of the ancient Mariner - Dance of Death - Ghost of the Navigator - Alexander the Great - 22 Acacia Avenue - Wasted Years - The Nomad - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - When the wild Wind Blows - The Evil that Men Do - Killers - Transylvania - Genghis Khan - Losfer Words - Purgatory - Remember Tomorrow - Revelations - Empire of the Clouds - Hallowed be thy Name - Children of the Damned - If Eternity should fail - The Clansman - Blood Brothers - The thin Line between Love and Hate - The Legacy - Stratego And the list goes on and on and on…. Iron Maiden is the true Heavy Metal for me, they master the balance between heaviness and melody, they are so melodic (that’s a big advantage), they evoke a lot of deep emotions musically in general, they usually give you heaviness, real great melodies, great harmonies, emotions, theatre, great rhythms, drama, great song structures and changes, great melodic (opera-like) vocals with fry spices put well and wisely, versatility, and sometimes epicness

'Wasted years' is probably the Iron Maiden song I never get tired of... the opening guitar solo stick in your head for sure... That record from 1986 ('Somewhere in time') should have been way bigger (it sold platinum), but the 80's were winding down... Even Judas Priest were not selling as well as the did by 1988 (but still went gold) ... and Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer were taking off at that point. And the big hitmakers were - Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Poison, Guns N' Roses, etc. Iron Maiden were always delivering those punchy singles in the 80's and early 90's... like - 'Be quick or be dead' ... 'Can I play with madness?' ... 'The evil that men do'... 'Holy smoke'... etc. But after 1998, their songs began to get longer and more intricate; they just needed the right producer to make them appealing... and Bruce Dickinson was the voice to make that happen. Maiden singles after 2002 were just not as memorable ('Wildest dreams'... 'Different world' ... 'El Dorado')... They just sounded more captivating & natural w/ epic songs w/ extended arrangements like - 'Dance of death'... 'The reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg'... 'For the greater good of God'... 'Paschendale'... etc.

Everyone is going to give you different songs, because Iron Maiden has 95% classic songs in their discography. In my case the most addictive is Strange World, but songs like The Duellist, Children Of The Damned, Moonchild, Infinite Dreams also drive me crazy. Honestly, Maiden's discography is overwhelming and I can understand that a Thrash fan might find it a "soft" sound but I think Iron Maiden is much heavier than a normal Heavy Metal band and their prog side is overwhelmingly superior to that side from other bands that are dedicated precisely to Progressive Metal itself. Greetings! PS: if your goal is to listen to the most "thrasher" aspect, I recommend that you listen to the first 3 albums: Iron Maiden, Killers and The Number Of The Beast. And I say this because they are albums that came out before than Kill em All and Show No Mercy and you can clearly notice the influences of the two bands. Here is a small sample of the most "thrasher" era of Iron Maiden: Transylvania. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIqTn2CZl9VkeNE

That's a tough question to answer. They have countless songs that touch my soul. Every couple of months is a different song. Songs I heard 20yrs ago that all of a sudden are the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. I love this band so much. The evil that men do and infinite dreams from the seventh son album are sooo good. Transylvania, an instrumental from their debut album, strange world and phantom of the opera from the same album, every song on the number of the beast, I could go on forever honestly

I take this song as an out of body experience. I can be wrong, but it's just an opinion. The most played song, for me has to be one of these: 22 Acacia Avenue and Phantom of the Opera, from Live After Death, and Where Eagles Dare from A Dead Live One. All are great rhythm wise and Bruce excels at vocals, as usual. You really have to dive deeper into Maiden, it's more than 40 years deep. Also, Iron Maiden and Killers are exceptional albums with a purely raw metal sound. Kind regards. Edit: Spelling.

For Iron Maiden ear worms that'll get stuck in your head, I'd probably suggest Children of the Damned, 22 Acacia Avenue, Die with your boots on, Infinite Dreams, Holy Smoke and From Here to Eternity. That said, I think you prefer the stories? In that case, The Talisman, Empire of The Sun, Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner and Powerslave are all good shouts. Revelations and the entire 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son' album (it's just one long story told across the whole album) are good options too, but are more abstract and will need multiple listens to get the whole story being told.

My favorite Iron Maiden crush song was off the 'Live After Death' release..."The Rime of the Ancient Mariner". Read the poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge first (what they wrote the song about). Coleridge was an 18th century British poet who also happened to be an opium addict. 'Alexander the Great' I've listened to hundreds of times, as well (off "Somewhere in Time").

With Iron Maiden and Judas Priest there's nothing like their 1980's albums, those are the best of the best the essential Metal albums to have. During the 90's both bands have a really weird period, I think Judas Priest's "Jugulator" with Tim Ripper Owens are a very good album. Instrumentally Iron Maiden's 90's albums are not bad but a lot weaker. After year 2000 both bands are slowly releasing good but not amazing or game changing albums. They just enjoy playing old glories.
