Jane's Addiction meant so much to me when I was young. I love watching you discover it.

Back when Navarro was a monster. Their drummer, Stephen Perkins is so damn good as well. Just inventive tunage. 😊 ty sir!

Perkins is way underrated. His brief stint with Infectious Grooves was epic, too.

I've been listening to that song for about 35 years and I still love it, I've seen Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros (same singer Perry Farrell) at least 10 times, great live band...It's great to see young people dig it!

Jane's unlocks a little when you really start listening to Eric Avery. By and large, everything springs from his bass lines. There are certainly people who will argue with me there, but that's the way I feel it. Nice reaction, dude.

Perry was never confused with a great singer, but he is what this band needed. Fucking love this band.

This song is the pinnacle of Jane's Addiction musicianship.

If you zoom in to observe from the micro level, maybe it's about a serial killer...maybe his thoughts? Upon zooming out and shifting the listener's perspective to the macro level, we begin to see that the lyrics are a prophetic commentary describing the coming of the internet age... The constant overstimulation that numbs us leaves us desensitized, bringing us to a place where Nothing's Shocking. Gotta love that Perry says, "And the news is just another show." Prophetic indeed for what year? 1988 I think? It's too good.

Yeah, when it wasn't shown it was graphically described. The song's about that desensitization (and what a monster Bundy was... that's him talking in that sample). For me, it was seeing footage of Jonestown as it was coming in when I was a little kid, but I can relate to every bit of this, as probably most people can with some sensationalized horror or another, especially in the age of mass shootings. The lyrics are definitely worth a read, and they're disturbing. All I have to say about it. Great song.

That's great. I know some their stuff but need to listen to more now.

I love this song. You should also react to Then She Did off of their album Ritual de lo Habitual. One of the most epic songs ever.

They did a good job with the chaotic music reflecting the appalling nature of his crimes and his pathology.

Perry Farrell isn't his real name. A play on the word peripheral i.e., Peri-Pheral.

Still my favorite Janes tune. Navarro is killin it. Perkins and Avery just ace.

Navarro had such raw talent. Wish he did more post janes. Songs about ted bundy btw

He did an album called Deconstruction with Eric (the bassist) if you were not aware. Also, i think his solo album is worth checking out.

Ted, just admit that [you get off from eating people] sex is violent.
@Chief21123 ай бұрын
Not about Ted Bundy. The sample is Ted Bundy interview. The song is about the media and how they cover crime, among other things.

Ted Bundy blamed his addiction to porn for what he did - "camera's got them images, nothing's shocking", "sex is violent"..

Is it just me or am I the only one who thinks you should you only listen to live versions of Janes Addiction? I think their live versions are 1000X better than the studio versions
