KISS: Paul Stanley - Star Child (guitar and vocals) Gene Simmons - The demon (bass and vocals) Ace Frehely - Space Ace (guitar) Peter Criss - Cat Man (drums) Gene and Paul were really into comics when they were young so they decided to include that into their stage makeup and outfits. They wanted to be the band they never saw. They formed the band in New York City in 1973. They completed their final tour last year. Their very last show was December 2023 at Madison Square Garden in the city where it all started.

Also, when they did interviews they showed up/spoke while "dressed up" in face paint. Then in 1983 they "unmasked" on MTV, which was a big deal and it revitalized their career.

Kiss is one of the top selling bands in history. 44 albums 21 were RIAA certified ( gold and platnum) They have sold over 100 million albums world wide. Those numbers are just staggering not even to mention all the merchandise that's out there everything from T shirts - key chains. Gene Simmons is a business genius. They even had a TV show with his family called Gene Simmons family Jewels. My favorite song by them is Rock n roll all night and party every day.

FYI - Gene Simmons of Kiss (the bass 'demon' w/ the long tongue who freaked u out!) had his own reality TV show: "Gene Simmons' Family Jewels"... Gene is actually quite a geek... he's always hustlin' w/ business deals, sponsors and TV shows. His longtime girlfriend (now wife) is Playboy model & B-movie actress Shannon Tweed, featured on the show w/ their 2 kids - son Nick and daughter Sophie. Gene Simmons (without the 'demon' makeup) has also appeared on a number of TV shows and B- grade movies over the years.

Gene Simmons, co-founder of the group, is the one in the "Scary" face paint. It is all just their thing, to stand out from other groups. By the way, they are or were on their final tour. Gene and Paul Stanley, the singer are good guys. Do a lot of charity work, and are still going strong with dozens of albums and a huge international following.

Great disco era song, Kiss was keeping up with times. I loved the group, went to see them in Portland, OR in 2019. They just finished the End of the Road tour about a year ago or so. They rocked crazy for 2 and half hrs..., in their 70's.

There is an interview with Gene Simmons (aka Doink) where he said this was his least favorite song. I think some of the acting was likely in protest. KISS does have some bangers, Detroit Rock City, I Wanna Rock ‘n Roll All Night, Calling Dr. Love, and Beth are all classics. If you want to hear Paul Stanley (guy who was singing) really sang check out the acoustic version of “I Still Love You”.

Back in the 70’s saw KISS twice, once at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles with Peter Frampton & Cheap Trick opening. Then at Anaheim Stadium with Ted Nugent & Bob Seger opening!! AMAZING shows! Gene Simmons is the one youre scared of bro. His persona was The Demon. KISS was ALL ABOUT the fans, the KISS Army. Someone asked Gene once 'which is more important: the fame or the money?', Gene replied 'the audience is most important. Its our job to make damn sure they get their moneys worth.'. Fun Fact: Gene Simmons and his mother fled war torn Israel when he was 8 years old. When they came to America they lived in a tiny studio apt in NY. Every night when tv channels would sign off the air, the National Anthem would play. Gene and his mom would get up and stand with their hands on their hearts while the song played. They appreciated America. Something that is a rare thing these days.

I was 5 when I swiped my oldest brother's Double Platinum tape and played it to death. I finally got to see them in 90 or 91, I was very disappointed that it was during the no-makeup stint. It was nonetheless a fabulous show. It was also great that in the video Gene was playing a guitar shaped like an ax. If I remember right guitar players call their instrument an ax, lol.

If you dislike disco, I would suggest Daft Punk like woah. Other than some obscure funk that people called disco...daft punk is probably the only disco based music that I think is goated. (Niles Rodgers, Pharrell Williams, tons of awesome samples and studio recordings? Epic af.) Nu Deco Ensemble has a really fire concert they called "Humans vs. Robots"(a daft punk suite)....and it is kinda amazing.
