Correct, tenderoni had nothing to do with being underage. It's old school Black American slang, like PYT or "pretty young thang." Aspiring female model kinda young, not Babygirl from the Bernie Mac show kinda young. 😂😂

That's correct. It's easy to misinterpret meanings if one is trying to apply a 2024 lens to 30 or 40-year-old lingo. No one who can remember when this song was out took it for being about underage girls. "Tenderoni" was what we called attractive, desirable women back then, not women of "tender" age. It's the same way when men refer to a woman they like as "baby" or a "babe"; they aren't talking about LITERAL babies. Perhaps there is a cultural disconnect as well since the uploader is not from the U.S. In the U.S., "tenderoni" in the 1988-1989 had nothing to do with underage girls.

Dang you should react to the studio version of Roni. That is the version that was a hit song. Even though this is a legendary performance by Bobby, live versions are never the same as the studio version.
