I was in my second year of High School at the time and I remember re-enacting this video in drama class. We had to give our deepest emotions to the performance! As you said, it was HUGE back in the day and you couldn't escape it. I absolutely adored the song, even though as a 12 year old I couldn't really connect with the emotional aspect of it (adult love). But it's always been one of my favourite songs. Nice to see the younger generation starting to discover and embrace this masterpiece!

I've watched hundreds of reaction videos, including several to this song, and this one of yours is the best I've ever seen. No pretense, just you losing yourself in the story of the song/video, and pulling for the good girl to win her man back from the clutches of death. In my opinion, this was the most powerful music video ever made and I cry every time I watch it, which has been 5 times in a row today. Not only are the music and vocals filled with raw emotion, but the video is absolutely captivating. A true masterpiece!

Siobhan Fahey, was not either a vampire or the devil, she symbolized the death. The main singer on this, Marcy Levy or Marcella Detroit, as her name is today, had a several years long cooperation with Eric Clapton. She also co-wrote one of claptons biggest hit "Lay down Sally".

I'm so glad you reacted to Shakespears Sister. Pretty much no one reacts to their music which is a shame. As a lot of people already mentioned one of the members from Shakespears Sister is Siobhan Fahey from Bananarama. I know, she looks nothing alike from her Bananarama days. To tie the link even more with Bananarama, the male model in this music video was the boyfriend of another one of the members of Bananarama and the father of their child. His name is David Scott Evans. In regards of the song, Stay remained on the #1 spot in the U.K. charts during 8 weeks and peaked to #4 on Billboard's Hot 100. At the time Siobhan had a strong dislike for the song as she felt it didn't really represent Shakespears Sister. Usually, their songs have Siobhan in lead vocals and a heavier contribution to the lyrics while Marcella performs backing vocals and focuses on playing the guitar and harmonica among other musical instruments. Stay showcased something different and this different side of the band was what made them hugely successful. They have many other cool songs and I hope someday you react to my #1 song from them, Hello (Turn Your Radio On).

Ha ha! I was just about to request my favorite Shakespear's Sister song, "You're History." This was one of those awesome reaction videos where if you know what's going to happen, you spend the whole first half of the video waiting for KSO's reaction to Siobhan's dramatic arrival as the angel of death. Love Shakespear's Sister. Siobhan Fahey (ex-Bananarama) and Marcella Detroit are amazing.

I listened to this song so much when it came out. This video of Death descending - "you better hope and pray you make it back to your own world..." Wow - and I still listen to Shakespeare's Sister, now - they had a reunion and their music is still haunting and wild and beautiful. This song does still bring the feelz... By the way - these ladies did get back together - they are both in their 60's and came out with a CD/MV in 2019 - Called - All the Queens Horses & When she finds you... It talks about them getting back together and forgiving each other...

They split in 1993 and reuinted in 2019... They released a new video you check out... ALL THE QUEENS HORSES, where after 29 years they.... refering to Stay and their other videos. Also another cool video of theirs. When She Finds You, but also when Siobhan was solo... It's A Trip.... Someone's girl. Really an awesome artist!!!! Finally it seems the world is waking up and you helping thank you ... from South Africa xxx Siobhan married Dave Stewart from Eurythmics in 1988 after leaving Bananarama and Richard Feldman a famous producer lived in LA opposite her and Dave. Love Shakespeare’s Sister. They just got back together about 2 years ago after not being able to work together for close to 20 years back when this song came out. You should check out their newest video “All The Queens Horses”. It’s a great song and a fun video

"Not being able to " , why wouldn't they be able to work together? Contracts ? Family? Why ?

Siobhan Fahey as Death (?), camping it up, makes me laugh everytime😅. Siobhan was a member of Bananarama, prior to joining Shakespear's Sister. It's worth checking out some of their hits, especially Cruel Summer - particularly if you're a Karate Kid or Cobra Kai fan😁

Remembering songs like this and the actual videos is very nostalgic, but seeing a new viewer actually getting the feels of the song and even the emotional catch from the video is pretty amazing too. Really enjoyed your reaction video and wish you success.

Someone else mentioned "All the Queen's Horses". That is one to definitely check out. Siobhan and Marcy had a bad breakup when the duo split up in the 90s. A couple of years ago they got back together to tour and make new music. AtQH is a great song and the video for it references the " Stay" video.

NGL the part of the ''death'' woman gave me goosebumps. The song is really intense, love how it builds up. Very unique.

What you were saying about talking to those in a comatose state giving them words of affirmation even though they "seem" unresponsive brings back memories of when my brother Andy (who was a paraplegic from a car accident on his 21st birthday) went into a diabetic coma (no one knew he had diabetes) and lay in hospital for a week hooked up to machines keeping him alive. Myself & his carer stayed at the hospital 24/7 holding his hand, playing his fav Beatles music and....talking to him. I got so angry though when a nurse said. "Don't bother, he can't hear you" ! Unfortunately, he passed away (age 50) as his body began to shut down but this song brings back so many positive memories for me. It is so hauntingly beautiful ! Thankyou KSO !!

That 'demon girl' is the gorgeous Siobhan Fahey from the 80's pop all girl trio Bananarama. I would go with her in a flash if she came to take me away.
