The Who album that deserves playing at the beach is Quadrophenia -- "Love, Reign o'er Me," "5:15," "I Am the Sea," "The Real Me," "The Punk and the Godfather," "I'm One," "Sea and Sand," "Bell Boy," "Drowned" among the other cuts.

Me too. Was 13 at MSG, wormed our way down to the seats right behind the stage. Back then you still could, 1979. Drank Heinekens with my girlfriends, handed up to us by the roadies, then shook Roger’s hand at the end. Loved every minute. IDK if things like that happen anymore, lots of rules,but maybe.

Oh Yeah, I forgot. Happy Birthday Pete Townshend, 75 yrs old today.

The song begins with the singer telling us how unique and alone he is in his suffering; almost drowning in self pity. As the song progresses, he tries to qualify his emotional state by claiming that his "dreams they aren't as empty as my conscience sees to be." He's really asking for validation. Then in the middle, he starts lashing out at the very same people who, moments ago, he asked for recognition and understanding. Then the song ends in exactly the same mood as it began; nothing was resolved, and he runs back to the illusion his arrogance creates to hid from his own self-created misery. This is how to write a brilliant song. A good piece of music should contain many levels of meaning, and convey a complex range of emotions. As always, ScribeCash, keep up the good work! Much love, much respect!

One amazing song. Behind blue eyes is one of my favorites. Pretty much anything by the Who and the Small Faces are my favorites. Everyone pretty much knows the history of The Who, but look into The Small Faces history and you might find some references to one Mr Rodney Stewart and one Mr Ronald Wood. The list of characters are. Steve Marriott. Lead singer of the Small Faces. Ronnie Lane. Bassist of the Small Faces. Ian MacLagan. Keyboardist of the Small Faces. Kenney Jones. Drummer for the Small Faces. Steve left around 1969 and they were on the verge of splitting. They approached Rod and he agreed to join only if Ron would get a chance. That was the start of something genuinely magical. I hope that this little insight will wet the appetite. I would recommend Tin Soldier. It is a masterpiece in my humble opinion. But as it's a favorite of mine, of course I would say that.

Un mur de son My generation était un cris de haine contre la société anglaise « Hope I die before I get old «

I dont quite get "reaction" vids. The songs are ALWAYS obvious radio standards. These songs are played at stadiums, on tv shows, supermarkets, auto repair shops, pubs, etc. Like really, this is your first time hearing this song?
@LivingInTheKaliYogurt4 жыл бұрын
Zoomers don't listen to the radio and if they're in a supermarket or autorepair shop, best believe they've got their earbuds in listening to their iwn generation's music. You take it for granted if they caught some bars of these classic rock dongs in the background while going about they're day that they'd hear or retain it. It's a huge blindspot for them and if they're reacting to this stuff, it's a way to connect to the past and the older generations in their lives. Makes sense that they'd first gravitate to the "big radio" songs that were everywhere for the older people. Those are exactly the songs the older folks they interact with would be telling them about first mist of the time.
