"I Can See For Miles" from 1967 and "Who Are You" from 1978 are Who studio tracks that'll blow you away, but you might check out their 1968 live performance of "A Quick One (While He's Away)" from the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus for sheer f*cking madness.

The song is being told, through the viewpoint of a "Bad guy" a "villain", as if to say "Yes I'm not a very nice person, but I still have feelings that can get hurt. This is a very unique song perspective; I have never heard before. Pete Townsend (Lead guitarist and some vocals) is an excellent writer and lyricist. The Who, are in the top 3 all time Rock Bands easily. Been around since 1965, and they just recently stopped touring. Bassist John Entwistle was found dead in a Las Vegas Hotel room a few years ago, and that was the end of The Who after 55 years together, and 20 plus record albums. Entwistle died of natural causes (Heart attack) at age 75. Such a great Band for all these many years. The Who were a British Band.

Townsend one said it was about a character he came up - a double agent who can't ever let his real thoughts and feelings show. It also adds meaning to the line "let me wear your coat", as another name for a traitor is a "turncoat." So "let me wear your coat" is another way of saying "let me appear to join your side." kzbin.info/www/bejne/laeXd5KOfcmtbNE

I’ve loved The Who since I first heard them in the early 70’s. Who’s Next is widely regarded as one of the best rock albums ever made, with every song a classic, including the iconic Won’t Get Fooled Again. That should be the next song you listen too.

Next? One answer - "Wont Get Fooled Again" I guarantee that you will jump out of your chair at least once and that also enter a vibe-like trance. When the same song can do that, it feels like heaven.

Yay! Thanks for responding to this one. Right? The song is so perfect and self-contained. I'm still trying to pick apart the lyrics after all these years. From a different album... I agree with everyone here..."Love, Reign O'er Me" is great. The way Roger Daltrey can seem to be singing a love song and WHAM, screaming. But then...back to the Who's Next album. "Won't get fooled again" is awesome. It talks about the changing "revolutionary" times way differently than Dylan did. Finally, a short ballad from the same album (wait, is it a ballad? I don't know) is "Love Aint For Keepin" It might be too short 2 :10 minutes 😅 to feature as a reaction but it's a pretty little gem to listen to some time

Some critic or peer once said of the Who's smash rock opera 'Tommy' that it's about "what it's like being Pete Townshend" - the same could be said of virtually all their work. It's about a deaf, dumb and blind boy. 'See Me, Feel Me', 'Pinball Wizard'(played by Elton John in the later movie), 'Cousin Kevin', 'The Acid Queen'(Tina Turner in the movie), and 'I'm Free'. 'Who's Next', from which this song and 'Baba O'Riley' come was originally intended to be part of a project called 'Life House'. See also 'Won't Get Fooled Again', 'Bargain', 'Song is Over' and 'Pure and Easy', the last of which was relegated to Townshend's first solo album, 'Who Came First', and the eventual Who collection 'Odds and Sods'. Their next rock opera, 'Quadrophenia', dealt with violence between Mods and Rockers in early-mid 60s Britain(UK); the Who were from the Mod scene. Try 'Love Reign O'er Me', 'The Real Me', and 'Bellboy', sung by drummer Keith Moon(as was 'Uncle Ernie' - a perv - on 'Tommy')on the album, played by Police star Sting in the movie. A couple of songs by late bassist John Entwhistle are 'My Wife', from 'Who's Next', and 'Boris the Spider'. Earlier hits include 'Pictures of Lily', 'Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere', 'Summertime Blues'(from Woodstock, live 1969 is my pick).

Everytime I hear this song I think back to a time I was visiting someone at the Philadelphia Psychiatric Hospital and there was this young guy a little younger than me there about 18 or 19. He was in there because his best friend blew his brains out in front of him while they were listening to this song. He was having a lot of problems after that. Don't know what happened to him but I hope he was able to live a good life.

It's just one of those perfect songs. It's not as well known as some others by the general music fan, but it's up there with one of the best rock songs ever. Period. Biz, I can't recommend the album "Behind Blue Eyes" comes from, WHO'S NEXT, highly enough to do one of your album reactions for. It's from 1971 and is arguably the best rock album ever made. As far as reacting to songs by The Who, if you have already reacted to some of these I apologise), "Song Is Over", "I Can See For Miles", "The Kids Are Alright"(album version), "Amazing Journey/Sparks", "Melancholia", Won't Get Fooled Again", "5:15", "Love Reign O'er Me", "Baba O'Riley", "See Me, Feel Me" (Woodstock version). Seriously, there's so much to choose from.

NIGHTWISH AND MEGADETH?? 🔥 MARCO SINGING HEAVY SOLO? 🤘🏻 My suggestion is another cover of them, which we HARDLY see on KZbin. And if you like a HEAVY Nightwish sound, this will be a very nice one! 🔥🤘🏻😎 Marco is singing solo on this one. Check out their cover of Megadeth, symphony of destruction. AND A HEAVY SIREN FLOOR & MARCO? The second also hardly on KZbin, is a heavy Siren, The Siren performed live of course by Floor Jansen, and also again a very good singing Marco🔥❤️🤘🏻 Enjoy it, and I with you!

YAY!! The Who and.... 🤦‍♀️Oh no, it's this song!! lol! Love The Who but this song has been such a buzz kill for me since I was a very young girl. Had a terrible childhood and this is one of those damn songs that always seemed to be playing on the radio when shit was real bad in the house. HOWEVER, you did just give me a positive memory to associate it with!!🤷‍♀️ Glass half full right??!! lol!!😁 Anywhoo, these guys are great (no matter who's singing lead).... you HAVE to check out.... 1.) "LOVE RIEGN O'ER ME". It's one of their best and is quite epic sonically (IMO). 🤗 2.) "Pinball Wizard" oh my goodness that one's incredible. The story behind it is moving!! and for a SUPER fun one that should give u a good laugh.... 3.) "SQUEEZE BOX" fun groove, fun lyrics!!🙃 Great to see you checking out another Who song finally and glad you liked it so much! LOVE your reaction but for me this song is..... 👎NO BUENO!!😂🤣See you over on the next one, oh and..... you're killing it with uploads and song picks, but killing me cuz I can't freaking keep up!! lol!!😅 It's a good problem to have and certainly WAY better than no vids from you (those couple months with u gone were torture!!😓)!!! Now, It might take me a few to get to all 16 uploads from this week (or more, I've kinda lost count!!) but I'll get to them all!!😜 Thanks for the hard work Biz!! You rock!!😎❤

The Who at their peak late 60s early 70s were the most dangerous band around. That band was fire. I was fortunate enough too see the original Who and its was one of the best moments in my life. They are my favorite band but i wont say they are the best that title i will leave for The Kinks. On the 4 occasions i have seen The Who every one was a trip. Who fans are fanatics and they are their for The Who and only The Who. Seen Joe Jackson open for them in like 82 in Toronto and i think he lasted 45 seconds before he got hit with a fully loaded hot dog and left lol. Great band live and never know whats gonna happen on that stage. A loving hate for each other. Their gift was great talent but even better chemistry. Like Zep once the four are no longer the guys its finished.

I agree with you the vocals are fantastic. I also love the idea of the song. A “ballad” from the point of view of the bad guy. It feels like it should be from a bigger rock opera. My only criticism of it is that I would have liked maybe one more verse and chorus.

I think of The Who as second only to Led Zeppelin when it comes to hard rock. The Who did 2 other epic songs, Won't Get Fooled Again and Love Reign O'er Me. The latter song comes from the double album, Quadrophenia, the greatest rock opera (along with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon) in rock and roll history.

Not as possible or financially feasible to blast a nice 4 speaker stereo system, but The Who, is definitely the band to crank to at least 8. I have seen them Live, and they are indeed the Loudest Band I have seen live. The loudest "Show" I have attended, was the Pink Floyd Laser Light Experience, the sound the guys set up was Mega Intense, all of DSOM, and Echoes for Intermission. All 70's All Cranked Up. If You Do have access to a nice stereo, listen to "Electricland" by Bad Company turned up to 11, and my point will be made.
