I find it funny how our parents came from third world countries to the U.S to give us a better life and now we're going back to these countries because the quality of life can many times be even better than that of the U.S lol how times have changed

I can live his lifestyle in the USA...but I really enjoy learning about cultures that are not quite as amorphous as our society has become. The digital nomadic lifestyle is attractive and imo, ultimately vulnerable as AI becomes more capable. Try to aim to live on no more than what the top quartile earners in countries can afford in countries you slow travel in...my cash flow would allow me to live the lifestyle of top 0.001 to 0.1% in most countries. But doing that would deprive one from sampling the local cultures.

Navy wives association is the group of women who are married to Thai Naval officers. They get together for the purpose of social events, charities work, fundraising etc. I graduated from Naval nursing college years ago. Some of my classmates married Naval officers, and they are members of this association. I kinda remember the area but there are some changes. Btw, that durian meals are very interesting. I have never seen that before. I have to say my Thais are very creative when it comes to food!

Hi Paul! This is one of your best videos so far. It was very informative and insightful. Even though I am a Thai citizen by birth, I would feel like an expat moving to Thailand since I grew up in the US at the age of 2. I will be in Bangkok this November for one month to scout out the areas where I potentially want to retire. Currently, I am leaning towards Hua Hin because it seems like a calmer version of Bangkok. I am about 70% fluent in Thai but I cannot read or write it, therefore, I will be looking for a good Thai language school. Which one do you recommend? Keep those videos coming!

With all due respect, don't you understand that the more you promote this kind of content, inviting EVERYBODY to go to the same place (in this case, Thailand) it will utimately destroy what you're enjoying now? Just see what happened/is happening to Lisbon (where I'm from) and locals cannot afford to leave in their own city anymore, prices are insane, due to the overflow of tourists and digital nomads all doing the same thing at the same time. And DN's / KZbinrs still have the nerve to promote the hell out of it just for their own short-minded temporary profit. Lack of empathy is insane, so sad...

I have the Thai retirement visa and rent a condo 1 bedroom, furnished near Asoke in Bangkok at 18000 baht a month including electric, washing, WiFi with movie package if I chose to watch TV. Currently have work in Malaysia in the oil and gas although originally I worked in Thailand for almost 8 years. I enjoy pace of life in Thailand and although I am almost 61 plan to work a little longer. My Thai partner has a few businesses and does not need anything from me except being a good boyfriend. She is actually a multi millionaire so actually she makes far more money than I could make as an expat in the oil and gas industry. Her thai husband died a few years ago because of covid related illness which caused him to go into a coma and die. I am ready to retire soon and enjoy more time with her.
