My first time offroad on a Royan Enfield Himalayan. This was a group ride with other RE Himalayans in North Yorkshire back in June 2022.

Good to see the green lanes, lot of fun just gently rolling along. One thing I prefer is a clear screen, it allows a lot more view of the path ahead.

Good point and not something I'd considered actually. The bike already had the black screen when we bought it.

Had an old "military" model of the Royal Enfield in the United States years ago. I think it was a 2003. Loved it until I didn't! Lol. All the O-ring gaskets leaked oil but it never rusted. The heavy duty clutch to tow a mortar put a lot of strain on the clutch cable and it broke about every 4k miles. Got to the point I had an extra in my backpack just in case. It was my everyday driver rain or shine and it required weekly maintenance of about 40 minutes just to tighten everything up and adjust everything. The ammo can saddle bags rattled quite bad. It would vapor lock when I climbed "sunset point" in the summer going north out of Phoenix, AZ. I would plan on it and once I got to the top and throttled down the engine was so hot it cooked the carb would die. I would pull over for 30 minutes to let it cool down. I put about 40k miles 64k kilometers in it while I owned it. It was a fun bike. It's 1940s tech. Lots of maintenance. Slow and heavy compared to new bikes. But it did get me VIP treatment at the Indian restaurant when I took it there! Lol

Just watched this, Richard and I have to agree with Orange Manstan. That smoked screen is obstructing the forward view far too much, imho. Hope you're well and have a great Christmas - John
