The R6 is my favorite 600, but I bought the CBR 600 because its easier to flat foot, the ergonomics are more comfortable, it has a dedicated gas gauge and the built in steering damper. Its just a more comfortable everyday rider and I know for sure that steering damper has saved my ass.

I ride a 2007 600RR so I'm biased toward this bike. But I have also ridden my friend's 2006 R6 which I used to think is the sexiest looking 600 from that era. I have to say that the CBR is much better on the street in pretty much every way. Comfort, power band, trunk space (if only slightly better). I've also grown to prefer the look (there's that bias again ;) The R6 is exciting if you like to play in the upper RPMs but how often do you get to do that around town? It's otherwise tall, uncomfortable, less stable and the throttle feels like an on/off switch. That's a lot of sacrifice for upper RPM power band and looks IMO. On track, I haven't had the opportunity to ride the R6 but I imagine it would be ideal if you can keep the engine spooled up. My CBR does double duty and I think it's perfect for my skill level and preference. Yes, I do wish I had a bit more high-end power delivery at times but, for the most part, I prefer having the mid-range torque--at least at the tracks that I frequent. The power band is also a little more forgiving when I mess up and let the RPMs drop too low. In the end, both great bikes with slightly different focuses. Despite all the pros and cons, I think we ultimately choose our bikes with our hearts.
@ZL1KAM4 жыл бұрын

I’ve grown used to the “wants to play” looseness of the line that the R6 has, it just wants to lean down and cut into a turn. The CBR definitely felt extremely stable in a straight line. Nice video. Outside of dirt bikes my street bikes have been: 1994 Yamaha FZR600 (R6 Precursor)-10 years 2003 Honda CBR600RR-10 years 2015 Yamaha R3-Past 4 years I downgraded to an R3 as I do less riding now that I’m older. However I miss the giddy-up acceleration of my CBR600RR. R3s & Ninja 400s have decent top speed and can do alright on the highway but you miss the launch and powerband. Thinking of going back to a larger displacement but many are still PTwins that aren’t much faster. Probably going back to an Inline4 like a CB650R or perhaps an adventure bike but as a shorter guy the seat height sucks on adv bikes. The CBR600RR and R6 are the two best 600 sportbikes. Can’t go wrong with either one. Ideally i could have 4-5 different bikes in the garage but that gets expensive. Thanks again for the vid and comparison.

I was thinking about getting the 2020 cbr1000 I have been looking at some different bike's but keep going to CBR . What would you prefer the 600 or 1000?
@ZL1KAM5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the style of riding. Do you have long roads for the 1000 or more curves for the 600
@shaneking49685 жыл бұрын
I do like the Curvy Roads more than the straight but I do a bit of both. Highway riding and going out on the back winding roads with a mate or 2 sometimes I heard the cbr1000rr feels like the size of a 600. Do you think hitting the corners will be better on a 600?

I got my licence a year ago and got the 1995 cbr600 with the steel frame, it absolutely sticks to the road. Soooo much fun! If your R6 is feeling like it moves make sure the fork seals are ok. Much love syay safe bro; btw yeah mid-range it feels like a turbo its mental haha

I'm 6'3" and I rode both the CBR 600RR and the R6. The CBR is AGES more comfortable. I've taken it in 8 hour road trips with no problem, and is currently the bike I own. The R6 is a HORRIBLE bike for my height. After around 30 minutes of riding, my legs start going numb. It's fun, yea... but what's "fun" if you can't enjoy it 🤷🏾♂️ I've had my CBR for about 5 years now, it's an 06. Got it from my neighbor when it had 3200 miles on the clock. I've just got a bit over 8200 miles on it now. Love this bike

So my first track bike was an 07 r6, then a fully built 2019 r6 (admittedly, I had no business owning that bike) and a built bmw hp4 race (another bike I should never have owned). Sold all of them. Just bought a 2006 cbr600rr track bike for $2500 and I love it more then anything I had previously. I will say this, if you’re new to track. Don’t get anything big, expensive or overbuilt. You won’t learn. Spend your $$ on proper equipment.

I have an 07 r6 and my boy that I mainly ride with has a sick 09 Cbr 650rr and I’m not gonna lie I love my r6 but his Cbr is nice. I kinda want one. I’m short I’m only 5’6 so I can’t flat foot the r6 for nothing but the Cbr I sit on it and I flat foot it so easily and it’s so much comfortable to ride. His exhaust sounds sick also. I even went as far as getting a whole new setup which I’m currently working on to see if it’ll sound better. Doing the cat delete on my r6. With a mgp exhaust that I’m waiting to finally come from “Italy” supposedly. in the end I love my r6 but I would love to have a Cbr mainly because it’s so much more comfortable to sit on and ride.

I've had my 2007 cbr600rr for about 3 years now. It's a good commuter.
@BESTNOODLEREVIEWS6 жыл бұрын
I'm biased, but if you can get a hold of one, try an 05+ Ninja ZX-6R 636. More comfortable than the R6, a little more aggressive than the CBR, but much faster all around. As to answer your video- I've ridden an 08' CBR600RR and an 06' R6. Absolutely love the aggressive riding position on the R6, and LOVE the power that kicks in past 8K RPMs. That thing is so violent when you bring it up there, it's damn awesome. CBR is perfect for the every day commute though. Comfortable, and linear power delivery.. but boring IMO. I'd take the R6 over CBR any day. Sweet video man.

Thanks for the feedback man and thanks for watching! I'll keep my eyes out for any of my friends on a 636 so I can jump on it haha. Ride safe out there bud

Hey bro so personally which bike do you have the most fun on?
@ZL1KAM5 жыл бұрын
The R6 being as aggressive as it is puts you in a great mood. Comfort wise cbr all day
@MotoxLewy5 жыл бұрын
Thinking about getting one of these bikes but also interested in looking at the ZX-6R. How does it compare to these two?
@KidCannon44075 жыл бұрын
Ian Lewis I got a 2012 r6 last week. 08 Cbr was definitely more comfortable (lower, seat not as wide) but I just love the look and dash of r6 more.
@MotoxLewy5 жыл бұрын
Evan Lewis Yeah the R6 is definitely at the top of my list solely because it just looks so damn sexy. But it would be my first street bike. I ride a 2 stroke dirt bike so have some riding experience. Looking to purchase a bike next winter so the R6, cbr, and Zx-6r are on my list. I’m 6 foot and weight about 175.
@KidCannon44075 жыл бұрын
Ian Lewis you'll love which ever you choose. I'm 5'7 and I tuck really comfortably in the r6. I tip toe it tho and am at stop lights on one leg. I didn't get to try the zx6r but the 2013's look great.
