37:20 Some of the Kenyans who complain have no understanding of how the project was built and assume it is tax-payer funded so they feel it is wrong to be charged for a road built on taxes...but of course that is not the case, there are investors who put in their money and must recoup it with a profit too. These are the very Kenyans who also complain when loans are taken. So they will never be satisfied by anything. They thrive by complaining about each and every thing. Of course there are some who genuinely cannot afford. But that does not mean everyone cannot afford. Many are willing to pay for the convenience and can afford it. Afterall, when you are driving on the same stretch of 27km and are stuck in traffic for 3hours or even more, you burn more fuel and waste of time is loss of money too.

The time i went via the express way from Mlolongo to westlands it cost sh. 360 paying cash. but it would have been cheaper and faster to be cleared on the exit queue at the westlands exit if i had an ETC or MTC card

It was built by mostly Kenyan engineers, cement and steel from Kenya but funded by china . Not overpriced, finished in one year. Loan to be paid only by users. Conclusion: good project . African Traveller explains all the raw materials and talks to engineers💯✅💪

Oooh great summary 👌🏼😁👍🏻 Thanks so much for watching and commenting ❤️ 🙏🏻

Some of the info thrown around is politicized so people have to be careful about what narrative they chose to believe. The debt burden on Kenyans is reduced since most projects after the SGR are on on loan but on Private Public Partnership (PPP) models. The Expressway is PPP funded, partnership by Chinese investor and the Government of Kenya. Investors to recoup the investment cost and get revenues for 27 years and the project will be in full control by the Government of Kenya.
@baroznoma20562 жыл бұрын
@@esem135 And you're just being negative. This comment and video was just about the expressway n not all other projects. The truth they'll pay the loan using that money collected in the toll station, not all Kenyans will pay for it. That's was was my point 🙏🙏
