I've played this game many times. And I promised myself never to play it again. Now I just want to experience it thru someone else's eyes and thoughts, a young and fresh mind preferably. So I appreciate you taking your time to do so. And dont worry about messing up here and there, thats part of the journey, that's what we went thru and that's what makes it special.

"be a good girl". Meryl said it first ironicly. The reason Snake said it back is because he was quoting her origninal intentions now she changed her mind. Almost like "you said you'd, and i quote: "be a good girl"".... Not that he uses that phrase in his day to day vocab. If he uses it genuinely then yea... We would have all cringed. Back in the day.

By "Same code as the boss", Ocelot could be talking about Liquid Snake's code name as well.

...I think he's definitely talking about 'Liquid'... Ocelot calls him 'Boss' during the game... also, Kojima at this point had not thought about giving 'Big Boss' the codename 'Naked Snake' - edit @FernandoMMuniz : I just re-read your comment and now I understand what you mean !!

I love the first 2 metal gear solid games, When I got my first ps1 I had a demo with the first metal gear solid, no the whole game just a demo version, like the first 20 to 30 minutes I think, and after that I had to get it, so I did eventually and loved it. Then played MGS2 on my ps2, they are epic.

Why couldn't they just ask him? Because he wouldn't be Snake if they just asked him. You gotta see "Escape from New York". It also probably has something to do with the hero's journey. The hero needs to reject the call to adventure at first so it's clear that he's not doing it for selfish reasons.

As a seven year old boy when you heard the name "big boss" you wanted to believe someone with so much valor, a hero could acually exist. Also, bless your heart for actually watching all of the briefing. I think i watched it five to ten years later at age twelve or eighteen during my second playthrough. So boring but...necessary? No disrespect towards kojima but damn.

I highly recommend playing Metal Gear Solid 4 very last if you are going through the series. The reason I say that is 4 chronologically is the end of the series and if you are enjoying the story it's better to end your run on a high exciting climactic note instead of and abrupt... That's it? Ending. V is an incomplete game and has an abrupt end to its story, so it's a really disappointing way to end your marathon of the series. 4 is an exciting conclusion to the series as a whole. Also Peace Walker is awesome and if you have a friend to play with you can play the entire campaign 2 player, I highly recommend it, it's so much fun that way!

@@yodudeyo100 Great minds think alike. It's also my favorite and I squeezed every single second, got a perfect mother base, did all missions, got all endings, all weapons developed, sent outer ops until I cleared them all without a single death. And I loved every second of it, I'm glad to hear there's someone who loved it as much as me, because lots of people hated it cuz the PSP.

Chill man, she says herself this isn't her forte, she doesn't normally play older games and she panics easily. This game isn't within her normal gaming sensibilities and it's her first playthrough. She deserves credit for even picking this up. It's always a little hard to watch a complete newbie play a game you're very familiar with, so just take things with a pinch of salt.
@vincew4297
@vincew4297 Ай бұрын
@@zebug4762 I remember my sister played this game when she and I were younger when the game was first released and she was great at this game because she paid attention to detail and this was as a 12 year old kid. Sometimes people who play this game now, all these streamers, particularly the girls, are not paying a lot of attention or taking it seriously, they just laugh a lot when they die and don’t make any adjustments. I understand it’s about having fun but you also want to see them progress and learn from their mistakes and not continuously die over and over again and sometimes for the viewers that can be very frustrating to watch. I enjoyed her play-through but I understand their frustration.
@zebug4762
@zebug4762 Ай бұрын
@@vincew4297 I totally get it, I was about 10 and my sister was 14 when we first played this game, and I'm sure we fared better too. That being said, MGS was clearly crafted for gamers at the time, and its design philosophy clearly isn't what casual gamers these days are used to. The lack of online guides and social media engagement at the time meant that game designers were counting on players to be observant and cognizant of the toolset their characters possessed, since there was often no one around to ask. Game manuals were often crucial and helpful for games at the time, but are often disregarded these days. It bred a certain manner of logical reasoning and rationalisation in older gamers which are compensated in the form of tutorials and tool tips in modern games (see Egoraptor's Megaman Sequelitis video). In short, games in the 'good old days' were designed very differently, which means 'modern' gamers can find it challenging to engage and develop the skills required to play these older games. Yes, even observation and reading textboxes is a skill. This channel is not the only one I've watched having struggles with what I would consider a basic concept, but give them time and they can be new fans for old beloved series of games that can help game devs to realise that they shouldn't give up on these franchises. Again, I'm with you here. I feel your frustration, especially since I speedrun a lot of the games I watch people play. But watching a person struggle is part of a first playthrough, and you'll just have to take things as they are. Take a breath and let it go.
