I'm glad you're enjoying your time with wow classic! I don't think the grouping is an age thing but more of a benefit to actual gameplay as the mobs are just harder to defeat solo.

Trust me, not having questie its not a bit more time. Its like 800% more time. The reason it hasn't become a problem is because you are in a low level zone. As the zones expand and the instructions become more large and hard to scale it can get unruley. But tbh enjoy the game you want to enjoy it

Lost my 25 warrior cause I tunnel focused threat aggro, my healer got banished and I could have pot'd/stoned but I died. Luckly friends lived and I am rolling through again but know how not to die. I LOVE IT!

Love these videos. Thanks, It brings back some great memories. I played this game when it first came out and didnt have questie, wowhead, or similar. We all played it like you do, Learning as we go and helping each other out. Every day was a new adventure. It was frustrating at times but a ton of fun and we made great friends to enjoy the game with.

On the coast of Westfall, there is a quest that drops off the Murlocs by the shipwreck, any murlocs really, i usually find it by yhe shipwreck. It involves Captain Sanders' treasure map questline. In the end, you get an 8 slot bag and a cool shirt, among other things. Its worth the grinding to start the quest.

@Z-MACx Yes it's one of my favorite quests. You also get a belt, I think it's level 16 but you are close to level anyway. If you are running out of inventory space, you can destroy the old clues as you go along. It's a little searching around but it is a treasure map quest after all. All the clues are not too far anyway. Happy hunting. Just keep killing murlocs until the first part of the quest drops.

Questie is great. But doing it without is honoring how us old dogs did it. I really never used add ons back in the day… but you’re in this for the fun and old school vibes so I say keep not using questie! Great video. Subbing for your journey!

anything you loot might give you something good. drop chance is just very small. chests are cool because they drop lots of stuff. so lots of dice rolls happen for game to figure out what will be inside when you loot it. also if you are in a group and you find a chest its usually nice to /roll to see which one of you will loot the chest

Wow Classic (mostly until WotLK) has been the only MMO I've played in the past 25 years where people will randomly group up consistently. Like, for a single 5 minute quest or a single mob.

Multiple different scenarios where people were happy to just randomly group and play with others. It’s awesome! I wonder if it’s a generational thing?? 🤔

You can't share *any* quest, there's many that have pre-req quests or conditions and it won't let you bypass that by sharing. Glad you're having fun.

You can not share any quest, but it’s good that you can share some. You will see in your qlog which can and cannot be shared. I’m so proud of you that you found the use of dampen magic. Soon you’ll find the use for amplify magic too. Leveling up to 20 and maybe to 30 is pretty doable without a quest addon like questie. After that it gets harder. Sometimes you’ll find that the quest in the sone you are leveling in is getting harder faster than you level up. There are usually several zones in different parts of Azeroth where you can find quest suitable for your level. And if you don’t want to use an addon or guide on a website you can just ask a more seasoned fellow adventurer. Thanks for a great episode, you bring joy to many!

These videos are always such a nostalgia hit. Id stay away from quest add ons as well for a first time, although, there are some which are more quality of life than anything (making all you inventory one big bag instead of broken up in to 5, UI placement etc).

Those Defias Pillagers hit so hard because they have a higher rank of Fireball they shouldn't have. I think what they cast is like a level 22-26 or something Fireball rather than one a level 14 mob should have.

To be honest even tho I play with questie nowadays I remember when they added zll the quest help back in wotlk and that was something I really hated. Back in the days we got to 60 without any quest addon and I am sure you can do it. When you really hit a wall you ask other players and worst case you go online. that's how we did it. Sure once you get to the database you light wonder what's the difference from questie but at least you read the quest and tried to figure it out yourself. The only little help i'd advise right now is MAYBE look up which zones are which levels so when you hit a wall in say a lvl 20 zone you can run tonanother and get more exp. But once again other players might be able to help you on that. It can get a bit annoyinf around level 35+ with some hard to reach places but thats also part of the adventure.

6:56 uhm mana and health potions are really useful which is the minimum you get mostly out of chests

I totally agree with you and questie. I use it these days but if you want a slow, true vanilla experience play without it, the only addon I would recommend to try is voice over AI.

I'm sure that Questie is great and all, but I wholeheartedly believe the game to be infinitely worse with it. It turns off all need for exploration entirely. You never have to read anything anymore, so why would you? The reason why most people don't understand anything they're doing in game or why they're doing it is because rather than take 2 seconds to read the quests, they'd rather have the game play itself for them. This game is absolutely incredible, and while people can absolutely use Questie if they want, the reality is that it will result in you being far less immersed than you would be otherwise.

I suggest you get voiceover AI addon. It Voices your quest texts in npc voices and is great for learning the lore and immersion

1:25 don't ever play retail. These interactions to join up are effectively non-existant in retail as everything is soloable (except for dungeons). I know I may sound like some salty vanilla-Andy, but I played 1k hours of retail (started in 2021) before even starting Wrath (not even Vanilla) 2023 and the older versions of the game are superior in lore and interactions between players. If you love raiding and pumping numbers, then retail is good, but questing with others not so much :/
