Streaming is fun and interactive, but there are so many games where I just want to focus and enjoy an immersive experience, which you absolutely don’t get on stream. I couldn’t imagine playing a game like this on stream, as I think it’s so important to feel alone and fully immersed when playing. I’m loving it so far and hope you’ll enjoy the series! Ok I think we need some tips here!😅 1- When you beat an enemy down you need to keep kicking and hitting them while on the ground a few times otherwise they'll resurrect, bash they're ugly asses in while they're down. 2- you use the potion by tapping the Y button and you hold it to use the syringe, potion is light heal, syringe is strong heal. 3- check every single room in the buildings you're going to visit throughout the game, exploration and puzzles are the core of SH, you'll need all the very scarse resources you can find and you'll find them only by checking every nook and cranny. 4- the maps are your best friend, you open them obsessively and look at all the updates that James marks, puzzles, locked doors, points of interest, key items that you haven't picked up (marked with a "!"), eveything is going to be marked in red on the map. 5- when the radio starts to go off it means there's enemies nearby. Now about what happened to the town... this is a sequel, so the game will not tell you anything about that, cause it's already explained in the first game and the story of this second game is completely disconnected from the others. All you need to know is that SH is a special place where occult powers are at play, reality becomes surreal and you'll have to face some insane creatures and situations. Remember that this is a psycological horror title, you'll have to pay attention to the symbolism of every single detail in the game, documents you read might seem random at times but they're not, the look and shape of the enemies have a meaning, the characters and they're weird conversations always hide a deeper meaning, The town will play with you Suzanne and it's up to you to interpret all the metaphors and symbolism to understand the truth behind these people and what brought them to this god forsaken place. Welcome to Silent Hill, it was waiting for you...

Really the only enemy in this one who doesn't have any symbolism to anything in the game are the Creepers, since they are just a leftover monster from the events of SH1.

@@MrsVeronicat You're welcome, it's a pretty intense game, especially this remake, enemies are way more aggressive and hard to just avoid, the combat requires a lot more skill compared to the original! it reminds me of the difficulty jump between Resident Evil 1 and its remake.

This is so cool to see you playing this game! Silent hill 2 is well known for not just being an incredible horror game, but also how it handles such difficult, mature and distressing real life themes such as serious mental illness, depression, suicide, psychosis, PTSD and terminal illness. It handles those issues very maturely, which is why silent hill 2 had such an impact on alot of people. Its not just a video game, its a very thoughtful reflection on very serious, very traumatic real life issues. This game is truly mind-blowing, can't wait to watch you experience it and figure out the story and what's happening little by little ! I will just say it's pretty complex and can get confusing at many points, but that's the beauty of it, everybody in the community has theories and sees certain aspects of this game in a different light. Hope you'll enjoy it (even tho it does get scary -- I'm also a huge scaredy-cat, so playing horror games does get my heartrate up by a lot :D ! ) 7:45 Yes, the atmosphere was insane in the OG, but I do think that the Remake amps it up a notch ! The sound effects, the ambience, so many details to notice, it's a terrifying but wonderful experience, really let's you immerse yourself into this heavy atmosphere ! 🙂

32:47 Since they shall be one of your most common threats for the evening, These fellows are known as "Lying Figures" 1:03:13 Also, these little bug fellows are known as "Creepers", but a fun fact about them: They are the only enemy in the game who is actually a returning monster from Silent Hill 1. a lot of people assume them to be spiders, but they are actually more beetle-like in this remake. (and they were based on roaches in their original game i believe.)

I'm so excited to see you play this game! 😁 I'm playing this as well right now. 😎 Fun fact: break any glass you see, car windows, vending machines, display cases, 9 times out of 10 you'll find goodies. Also, the baddies that look like they're in skin straight jackets, their blind, you can walk right up to them and as long as your quiet, you can get behind them and smack them down, kills em quicker. Silent Hill 2 is considered one of the best horror games ever made story and atmosphere wise so your in for a real treat.

I have always loved all the Silent Hill games. I have played all of them and know the stories by heart. This one especially. If you have questions, I’ll be more than happy to answer them, but I don’t like spoiling. I hate being spoiled, and won’t do that to you either. :) As others have said, exploring is key lol You get low resources, so finding everything you can will make your trek a little easier. Not going to lie, it took me a while to get the combat down. It’s definitely different from the original in that aspect. Dodging is important lol Lastly after you got the wooden plank and looked at the fence, the screen had a grainy effect with some music. That’s a glimpse from the past that this game has riddled all over the place. All they are are nods to the original game, mostly for CB is old time fans. They were key moments in the original that don’t exist in this game or were moved to another location. Again, I remember the original like the back of my hand. Make a shout out if you want any of those explained, otherwise enjoy this playthrough. I am so happy they remade this. I loved it, and I’m sure you will too :)

Quick tip.. if you tap the health button, he gets the health drink, if you press it (with a bit more duration) he gets the syringe. So it's a quick tap versus longer press situation.

Well I (like you) Suzanne watched a Silent Hill movie, all of it, a few years ago and it was really good. I am now 4 minutes in with you and it reminds me of it, I hope I like it ... good so far. Edit: I had to pull out at 38 mins due to dizziness; I like the concept and overall gameplay, the graphics/audio are good and contemporary with games I played in 2008, but it was not at all scary and I think I would have become bored after a while. I appreciate your playthrough but probably 'not my style of game' is perhaps the best way to put it. ☺

Huh, I find Resident Evil much less scary. I mean, it's still a horror, but much more "I'm still a hero" horror. Silent Hill messes with your head, especially the plot revelations at the end messed me up on a psychological level.

I'm very very happy that you play this, this will be very interesting. )) And this is the best Game ever made, at least the Original, the Remake sadly got toned down a bit, maybe i talk about this after you finished. The little Scenes you find sometimes where the Camera shows a Scene and you can't do anything, those are Mementos from the Original Silent Hill 2 back then in 2001, this Remake is mostly the same but they changed some Things Gameplay wise and those Mementos are for the Players of the Original to remember the original Game. Like for me it is ahhh here i got this or here i did that. ;) I think you understand what i mean. It is very important that you take your time and not just rush through this Game, this game tells a Story on a deeper Level and thats including Text Doduments so please read everything. Funny thing for me to mention the Enemies you encounter now are called Straightjackets and the Developers at Konami back then took a Men as inspiration who whore a Hoodie and had his Hands inside his Hoodies Pockets. ^^ Oh yeah and i'll be a Member from now on )

The reason why Silent Hill 2 it became a classic is because eventually people began to see how unique, eerie, melancholic and authentic the game's atmosphere it really is, and took the time to enjoy its deeply thoughtful narrative and symbolism. The soundtracks of SH2 are so Iconic and Divine. 🎶☯️🎶To this day it’s by far one of, if not the most mature examination of grief, sexual trauma, suicide, and morality all combined. It’s an intelligent game that does not hold anyone’s hand and comes at the player with utmost confidence in itself. It’s fantastic stuff. The rest of the original 4 are great in their own right and have their own well written stories, but they don’t hold the same emotional weight to them. I think SH2’s maturity by comparison is something that a lot of people are drawn to. ☯️

No spoilers, but Silent Hill is actually not an abandoned town. This game doesn't explain that part, though it's not important to the story of SH2. You have to play the other games in the series to fully understand what is going on with the town itself, and what caused it to become like this. The story in SH2 is mostly unconnected to the lore of the other SH games.

Suzanne playing SH 2 remake 😎the town looks rotten and in decay cuz James see it like that, it's basically what James sees through his eyes, his mind it's messed up cuz Mary's death, every monster he will see through the game it's a manifastation of his fear, guilt and sexual frustration, only James can see'em, that's how it basically works Silent Hill to people 😳 hyped for the next episode ! ❤
